Hi

If no one minds I am going to try and put all my activity in to one thread rather than different build threads. I seem to have too much going on at one time and keep doing a little bit on each car randomly.

Someone here posted about how rubbish the new eBay search was. I tried it and ended up with a DT-03 on my doorstep.

052D0FA4-8B8A-4FCF-84E6-DBA6F20316FD_zpsu

new built with bearings posted for £30. Built well but the sprus are not well cut.

A quick look in the spares box and I find

can you see where this going?

I have the wheels kicking about so monster DT-03. I know there are fears about over heating the box on these with big wheels but I will give it a go.

Looks good so far! Do the body holes fit the Aqroshot post locations?

Front are in line but not underneath. Rear are a mile out

Cool !  You can always run a 35t CR Tuned motor.  They are still fast enough to blast around with big wheels and either pinion (17t / 19t) and decent run times compared to a silver can.  We tried it with a friends Acroshot with the big chunky truck Dirt Hawgs.  Makes an awesome gravel basher !

I wil try a silvercan and see how hot it gets. I cannot find a mod 08 pinion in 15t to fit with a modified plate

Love it! Always been a fan of the stadium blitzer shell. I've considered this exact thing with the matching wheels from the blitzer.

So motor time

Silvercan, Torque tuned or maybe Sport tuned on the stock ESC.

10.5 brushless on stock ESC

4000kv waterproof setup

23t cheap motor from Japan on a 1060

I do have a random 3s soft pack that would be well protected in this chassis so I could run silvercans to death on that and a 1060

What do people think? Need to use up what is in stock rather than buy new.

Anyone know of a 15t steel mod 08 pinion?

Shell trimmed

not a bad fit. Well base is a lot longer than original but it does not look to out of place.

Will run with a torque tuned and heat sink for now and see how it runs

Shell mounting points are not very close but I did find this lump in my box that lines almost exactly with the rear body holes. It is made of chinesium so is not as heavy as it looks.

Sorry box polishers, this has been sat in the window for ages and I thought I should build it before my wife gets very fed up of it being there.

The body is being used on another project so I have no idea what to do with this chassis yet.

First things first. Lob the motor in the motor box with the others and dig out the bearings.

There is not a lot of grease in here, which is a good thing. I am sure the old white geared boxes were stuffed with to much grease.

Enough done for tonight

Not sure how or why I got two machine screw sets to build this with. I am not using them anyway...

will be on its wheels in no time, if I had any idea which ones to fit that is.

I have a couple of sets of CR01 wheels with WR-01 tyres so they would work, but what body?

Wheel not a good match but I have two sets of WWII ones I can rob the rears from if needed.

What body though?

Needs to be short and cheap

I might have to get the tape out and find out.

Need something crazy for this one I think.

It is stealing from one of my ideas for a project but...it is short, cheap and crazy on that chassis / wheels.

Coming in at 210mm wheelbase, the Kamtec Morris Minor van in ABS.

So have you run that DT-03 yet? I'd be interested to know how it went set up like that.

Not yet, the weather here has been terrible so I have not got the body painted.

Sorry, long time and no updates. I have been biking and diving so time has been limited.

Daughter is coming up 5 this week and her car is a bit slow on a 50t so I thought I would swap some parts around and give her something else to play with.

put in silvercan

Motor still getting very hot but ESC seems to be coping. Not sure it is the right car for her though.

Might have to find a body and let her have the WR-02
