Renegade88(2) 0 Posted April 2, 2003 How do I remove glued tires from rims? is there anything that removes CA glue?
turbocharged s15(2) 0 Posted April 2, 2003 hey.. the best thing to do is if you ca go to your hobby shop and see if the have a tire lathe. It slices the tire right of the rim. The tire will be no good but the rim will be like new and ready to throw another tire on![8D]
Dazmeister 0 Posted April 2, 2003 Boil a kettle, pour the boiling water on your wheels and with a bit of luck you should be able to seperate the tyre. Alternatively you could put a pan on the stove with water and bring to the boil and place your wheels in it (WARNING - rims may be melt or warp and your kitchen may end up smelling like a condom factory[:0]) Darren
c_a_r_t_e_r 0 Posted April 2, 2003 LOL!! I did exactly that with my wheels and tyres in a pan in the kitchen.. and there was definitely a rather pungent smell lingering afterwards! It loosened the CA glue though.. but I'm sure my pasta isn't going to taste the same if I use the same pan in future... Doh! [] Tim
terry.sc 16 Posted April 2, 2003 Check out this thread for using nail varnish remover. I find it easier than dealing with the mother/wife/girlfriend problem regarding the smell of rubber. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2814
