Avante 2001

Hi all,

I have a question regarding to the Avante 2001.

It looks like the Avante 2001 shares the exact same chassis as the Egress 2013? Is this correct?

Will the Avante 2001 body fit on Egress 2013 chassis? Does the Avante 2001 uses the same under tray as the other Avante 1988 & 2011?

I like the look of Avante 2001 and I just build Egress 2013 so I wonder if I can interchange the body?

It does share a near identical design, but the 2001 chassis was made from FRP and not carbon fibre.  Tamiya re-released the 2001 body set to compliment the 2013 Egress as an optional part.  You may still find some on Ebay.

The original Avante and it's re-release have a shorter wheelbase than the Egress and 2001.  The body part is not such a direct fit, and the undertray is of a very different design to accommodate the Avante's unusual chassis.

 The shape of the chassis is identical, not the material. Avante 2001 had FRP plates.

The Avante 2001 body fits the Egress and vice versa. The undertray is made for avante 2001 only and was an option for the original Avante when upgraded to Egress chassis plates. Avante 1988 and 2011 undertray doesn't fit the Avante 2001/Egress chassis.

Tamiya recently re released the Avante 2001 body as an optional body for the Egress 2013 so the answer is yes.

Awesome! Now all I have to do is find the re-release Avante 2001 body. Do you thin tamiya usa has this body or it is probably discontinued?

sadly , and only 3 years after they were made available , now more than twice their original selling price

a lot no doubt reside in TC member hoards, maybe 6 or so were painted and shown on this forum. Rest I dare say remain new in packet waiting for their moment of glory

If you look on ebay for avante, in the radio control section, you should see the body set.

As Percymon has already said, the body set is already at an inflated price.

OK, I see it now.

 

It's a replica made by *****.  But it doesn't come with under tray.  Can I use the Egress under tray?  I also see original body set. I bet the final bid price will be outrageous. I like avante 2001 but not that much if price is too high

Well it is compared to when they were released for sale and typically you could buy one from the Far East for under £30 delivered.

in contrast there are non tamiya replacement body parts available (but not for discussion on this forum) ; by the time you buy all three lexan parts you are probably looking at £35 shipped and you still don't have a decal sheet or driver figure

so whilst £60 isn't cheap it's the number you'd arrive at whether tamiya parts or otherwise from my brief research

Wow..... Glad I bought one from Stella even though I didn't have a Egress till some time later.

 

Yep agree with Percymon time you buy it all it will still add up.
