I'm working on finishing up my frog twins, and I wound up using Losi Half 8ight shocks. Fit pretty well, but the front end is way stiff. I thought it was just springs, but I seems to be over damped as well. What weight shock oil do you guys recommend? Thinking of starting at 30wt, but wondering what other people have used. I also have no idea what came in these things.

I have a couple different options on springs, I got some Kyosho mini inferno spring sets. Have the softest on it now, but they don't return very well due to the heavy oil, I'm thinking.

Yeah, sorry, I meant that I was using the losi shocks all the way around. I have read through your TRF frog thread many times, actually! I was hoping it might be you to chime in. I am using two shocks, though, vertical style. I modified an ebay shock tower I found that was one piece. I cut the center connecting section out, as it was plenty beefy, and I just didn't like the look. I'll take some pics when I get back home.

So here's my setup. the Losi shocks fit just about perfect. The fronts I used a 1/4" spacer, and the rear I used the spacers that came stock with the shocks, on both ends. I found a bottle of 35wt oil I forgot I had, so I'll probably start with that and see where that gets me. I know you used 40wt in the Mini T shock, maybe this will get me close. Might be a bit much with the 2 shocks, though.

Dangit, I tried 3 times to upload them, then linked them, and they worked for me. I'll just go back to photobucket.DC2F7E71-09C2-46E1-8C46-C4FA8B3A0C66_zpsB8F47CAE-28C0-440F-8352-EF08EEA93C11_zps

Yeah Now have the pic's

Looks all good to me But it's the springs and damping that I can't tell by pic's.

The Frog is a light buggy to start off with so a soft spring set up is important in order to work effectively. The rear is a lot easier to sort out then the front.. As I said in my TRF Frog thread I found small Losi Mini T aftermarket shocks to work the best with the light front end ..

Doesn't mean it wont work with bigger shocks just the springs would be harder to match. I like what you did with the one piece shock tower up the front. Looks so much better.

Quick update while I wait on the battery to charge. Front shocks I think were filled with diff fluid. Maybe not, but it was insanely thick. Refilled with AE 20wt, we'll see how that goes. Also, my shorty pack came in, so I played with the mounting a little. Most of this is temporary, but I think I like the battery lengthwise like this. Almost like it was meant to be. Kinda hard to see, but it fits almost perfect. 5CFD0035-C2B8-40F4-8F39-1A5120FC4BE7_zpsAD4CABD0-FA8D-46A9-88C9-DFA31284C2E7_zpsE3D16946-C1D5-4712-9BB3-845D84B3E22F_zps

Initial impressions... It's a blast! Has tendency to traction roll in the high grass of my yard (been too hot to mow), but admittedly, that's more my driving than the car. There's a little jump at the end of my driveway, and it handled it great! It does push a bit, and then the rear lets go on pavement, but again, the was just me playing around. I think my evil plan is working well. Forgot to mention, I'm building two of these little guys, and setting them up for FPV racing in my house/yard. Out the back door, jump off the deck, around the house, then back in the front and through the living room! (Before you ask, yes, I'm single). Going to take some getting used to to keep them from flipping, but I think it's going to be a riot! Now to put the other one together while I wait on the camera systems.

Quick video of the fpv setup around my house. Range isn't quite what I was hoping, but I'm going to try a better antenna and see where that gets me.

Got started on Frog #2 today. Going a lot easier now that I have everything together. To my surprise, not only does this one have the CRP mounts for the rear trailing arm, (they both do) it also had the bushing in the transmission, too! Here's where I left off today. Gonna get the other body painted when I get to the LHS. Wondering what color to paint them both, guess I'll see what they have in the store.image.jpeg

And now we have a roller!image.jpeg

And my bench is still a mess. Trying to get this put together to make room for the Egress!

Ok, so I should have been getting ready for my vacation, and I could have probably started on my Egress, but I wanted to get something actually finished before I leave for a week. So I painted Frog #1. Didn't want to go totally box art, since I'm building the two as racers, so I picked up some Tamiya blue and red. This one gets the blue, for no other reason than it didn't have the red CRP plastic pieces on it. 5DA6D6DE-C2D4-4E09-A245-3B76082EC696_zps

Had no idea it would come out so patriotic looking! Scrimped a bit on the stickers for a little cleaner look. May take that frog off the top, now that I'm looking at it again. Wanted it to be recognizable, though. Going to do the other to match, but of course use the #2 stickers.

Got my new antennae today! Finally made it all the way around the house. Works better when it's on my head, and not being videoed by my phone.

Sorry for the late reply, I've worked all weekend.

Here's the goggles: http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-EV800-5-Inches-800x480-FPV-Goggles-5_8G-40CH-Raceband-Auto-Searching-Build-In-Battery-p-1053357.html

And Antennas: http://www.getfpv.com/fpv/antennas/ibcrazy-5-8-ghz-bluebeam-ultra-antenna-set.html

The antennas up the cost, but that was the only way I got enough reception to get around the yard. If you're going to be outside the whole time, the whip antennas it comes with may be ok, like for a track or something. They really did help quite a bit, though, or there are other systems from the same manufacturer that are a little more powerful. The only thing I had to change was that the camera system came with a plug to fit a 3s battery, and I'm using the 2s lipo. The mount is a simple scrap aluminum piece with two bolts run to through it to zip-tie everything to, and mounted to the car with double sided tape. Easy.
