Afternoon. Im looking to pick brains re TT02b

1/ After mulling it over for 6 months I've finally gone full bore brushless having decided the fire bolt is too tame. I'm looking to swap the plastic dogs and out-drives on the TT02 b to some metal universals and cup out drives. Will the Tamiya DF02 hop up units fit? I'm sure I read somewhere the shafts do but looking at pics of the actual out-drive cups that fit to the diff they appear different and would suggest the out drives themselves will not fit . I've seen 3 racing ones online. They are considerably cheaper but I've no idea of quality.

2/ Any good recommendations too for decent shock alternatives that will fit? Under acceleration the rear end squats (as expected) a lot now and the front just floats. I wouldn't mind firming up the rear a little, obviously not so much that the rear is too hard.

3/ Lastly, any idea of a metal wing mount that will take place of the plastic unit? I've fitted a more solid sacrificial wing as during the inevitable roll overs I discovered the protection it affords sitting on the solid wing upside down is way better than the lexan one which just squashed like a pancake meaning the shock tower took the road rash which isn't ideal. That's also one reason why I haven't trimmed the body posts.

Cheers all!

I use stock DF-02 metal dogbones, drive cups and axles in my TT-02B, and they fit perfectly. I would therefore see no reason why the DF-02 universals wouldn't fit too. Just be sure to get drive cups with 0-shaped fittings rather than splines otherwise they won't fit the stock diffs or the DF-02 or GPM metal upgrade diffs.

Cheers for the info,

Looking for DF02 hop up universals for sale the adverts say theyre to be used with part 53790 which are the drive cups.  Looking at photos, one of the cups seems to have a longer metal shaft extending out of the tip? I cant see how that fits into the diff. It might be just me missing something but its got me baffled. Heres a pic

having spent an awful long time looking at and for tt02b hopups, i've yet to come across a metal/alloy wing mount.

I actually did see one on fleebay. It was a copper colour one, I didnt buy it at the time and havent seen one since. Ill adapt something else methinks.

That is correct. The thin metal shaft passes through the small hole in the centre of the diff spider and into a matching hollow that runs down the centre of the opposite drive cup. This keeps the drive cups in alignment. Works well! :)

(The above of course assumes that you have already upgraded to DF-02 diffs. If you haven't, you'll need to either do so or  drill a small hole in the middle of the stock plastic spider as it has a solid centre.)

Or if you want to forego the central shaft, you could use Tamiya cup joint 54477 instead. Personally I like the shaft and the stability it provides, but the choice is yours!

Top info, much appreciated! That sounds like the way forward.  I am running the DF02 metal diffs myself. To be honest I had forgot there was even a hole in the spider on the df metal diffs. Stability sounds just what I need with the brushless.
