Tamiya TGX Mk.1 in LHS (Canada)

I visited Advance Hobbies (my LHS) for the first time in over a year. They had moved a lot of stock out, but among the relics on the very top shelf was a brand-new Tamiya TGX Mk.1 chassis kit.

It was packaged with a hop-up gear set, taped outside the shrink-wrapped box. I asked about it, and the shopkeeper guessed that it had been around for over 20 years.

Unfortunately, I was not allowed to photograph it, but for anybody looking for a new-in-box TGX Mk.1 with extras, Canada has something for you! Fortunately, it looks like it will not be moving any time soon...

Is the price reasonable?

No clue, to be honest - this store sells entry-level kits for a higher sum, but the prices even out for higher-end items. All of this comes with the caveat of the currency in Canadian dollars, meaning they often compare favourably in other currencies. I only noticed the kit after I paid for my own items, so the conversation was too short to ask about price (and not like I would be able to afford it anyway).

I remember an old TA-03F TRF sold for $300 CAD, again new in box. If you want, though, I can call and ask...
