Good topic.

For me it's a NIB HIROBO LANCIA RALLY 44B.

What is yours "H" ?

Not really rare per se, but I have a Mardave Meteor.

I'm from England, but I now live in the States.

The Meteor is also from England, and was never exported here (at least not in any quantity).

I always wanted one when I was a kid, but never got the chance.

I never managed to get a UK seller to ship one to me here in the States, but I eventually found one on eBay from a seller in Texas.

He told me he got it in a job lot of gear from Norway, which is how it got here.

So, not really all that rare in general, but very rare for this country.

I bet there aren't many U.S. members here who have heard of it, and even fewer who own one!

Unfortunately, it is missing a rear wheel, so the quest continues...

Not sure if it is really rare, but I haven't seen too many pop up. My NIB Rough Rider body set would have to be mine.

Man I wish i'd kept mine. Had 2 in the mid to late 2000's and made one good one.

Thanks sven, it was luck of the draw. Stumbled across it on eBay whilst looking for something else. Didn't come with a speed controller or motor but for the price it was a steal. And I love my fast fords

Nothing Tamiya; all my Tamiya stuff is dirt-common (except, apparently, the unbroken rear suspension arms on my Fox).

I do have a few rarities here and there: a Stormer Racing 2:1 gear reduction for pan cars, which I have used in a couple of crawler/scale trucks, a set of Parma sway bars for an RC10 (out of package, but with instructions), an early Altech reversing ESC (non-working, sadly), and the four original unbroken red plastic shock collars on my Optima.

Had a nice new-built Nichimo Exceed 443 for a while, but was afraid I was going to run it (and worse, like running it and end up trashing it), so I sold it to a "proper" collector. Still would like to find an already-used early 4WD/4WS buggy someday to try...

Hmmm I guess it would be my WW M38 SWB.... not really rare I guess, but that's the rarest that I know of, unless falcons or sonic fighters are rare...

or maybe my TL01 with carbon gear shafts and the lightweight chassis... or new pink action-power buggy motor...

Old thread revived

These are hard to get. Never seen a complete nib chassis set or screw set available.

Nowhere near as rare as many of the things on here, but I have a NIB Super Sabre bodyset with decals in the orignal brown box, I have only ever seen this one and one other for sale, I paid a pittance for it somehow on ebay!

Awesome!!!!!!!!

By the way, does the box have the "1982" stamped anywhere? I'm curious how you got the exact date. Kyosho kits doesn't usually show that specific info.

Hi Eric,

no, there is no date stamp on the box.

You can only see it on the manual.

cheers,

Martin

The first versions that used this chassis (Indiana "Don Adams CJ7", Ford Ranger Pickup 4x4 and Chevy Pickup 4x4 are indeed from the early '80's, but the Datsun Pickup is a later release. If my memory doesn't betray me, it first appeared in the 1987 catalog.

The body on this fella. I love the Thunder Dragon, but this body is one I bought in about 1993 to replace the wrecked original. I can't believe how expensive it would be to get a new one now. Desperately hoping for a Re-Re!

I didn't  realize that the Thunder Dragon was so rare, I have a new built one that I managed to import from Japan.

The Thunder Dragon bodies are incredibly rare. Parts for the chassis are no problem at all due to the Thunder Shot and Fire Dragon Re-Re's. nice looking buggy you have there. If you're thinking about hop ups, the most effective thing I've done to mine is get the Terra Scorcher rear sway bar. Transformed the handling.
