Hello Peeps,

Last night I completed my NIB Clod, I wont say it was a pleasure to build, but it was good to see it complete.

Upon taking it out for a run I noticed that if I turn the left or right whilst the car is stationary, the car moves forward or backward slightly, like there is some sort of interference, or something, can anyone suggest why this might be happening? (it is the original MSC).

Also, the ESC that comes with the T or E-Maxx, the Novak cyclone 14.4, is it any good? I have heard that the Novak Super-rooster is the one to use, but just wondered what it was like as a comparison, what motors limit does it have.

Cheers

Si.

Super Rooster:-

SPECS: Voltage input: 6 to 10 cells (7.2-12V) On-resistance: .002 Ohms

BEC voltage: 6.0v/3Amps Weight: 4 OZ

Maximum current: (forward) 320 amps (reverse) 160 amps

When using the Super Rooster with dual motors there is a limit to the

ESC'S capacity. Super Rooster can only handle dual motors in parallel

as low as 15-turns. In series the Super Rooster can handle any two

motors. When the motors are in parrallel you count half of the turns

of one motor for the load on the ESC, and when they are in series you

count the total number of turns.

Novak recommends that users stick with 15-turn motors in parallel,

while any wind in series will be safe.id="size1">

Does the car move when turning to lessen the strain on the steering components.

It takes MUCH less force to turn the wheels if they are rolling than if they are stationary, therefore putting less pressure on the steering joints.

Maybe the set-up ( design ) of the chassis is to encourage this movement for the above reason.

That makes sense, I suppose that could explain it, although I'd have thought if that was the case it might mention it in the manual.

Do any other clod/big trucks do this?

I used the super rooster with great results. Everybody i know who has one chucked their evx in favour of it! I never had an evx because it was a second hand maxx with a brand new super rooster as the evx got fried by the last owner.

I think its the super rooster for me.....when i get some cash!

I have also managed to sort out the problem of the moving car, I followed voltars advice and swithced crystals and it worked.....weird, especially as these crystals are fine in other cars????
