By chance I am now the owner of a posi gear diff set (used but ok) for Subaru Brat etc.

I am going to refurbish a Frog and thinking of installing the posi drive diff.

Any experience with this diff? Does it have any advantage compared to the standard diff?

Field reports etc. are highly appreciated!! Thank you very much in advance!

Dude it's not a diff at all more a spool.

So what this means is both wheels will drive no matter what.

So on soft low grip surfaces like the beach it would be great but almost all other terrain it will want to do donuts all the time and will be understeering a lot ( not wanting to turn)

Normally a Frog differential set was a good up grade for the Brat. I guess that's why the re re Brat has the Frog diff as standard

So the set is somehow comparable to a locked diff? A posidrive diff, as far as I understood, should transfer most of the power to the tire with most grip, preventing the other one from slipping. Agreed, this set does not look very much like a classical limited slip diff.

I guess I have to stay with the standard diff then, unless there are some advocates for the posi drive set ......

Not only that, but the original Brat gear requires different plastic cups for the drive cups that go into the gearbox. And there is another problem to that but that but kinda long to mention ;)

What plastic cups are you referring to? I got the old brat (this is the wreck where I got the posi drive gear from) but there are no such plastic parts, the manual doesnt mention it either

Moreover, you made me curious about the other problem.....
