Just after we moved in I built a studded wall inside the garage to try and keep the temperature up a bit so I could use the rest of the garage as a workshop
Until now, the area between the wall and the up n over door's been for storing junk but I recently replaced the old steel door with a new roller door which keeps the draught out
Having tried airbrushing in the main garage and coating everything with yellow dust, I thought I'd convert the junkroom

Shelf brackets came from eBay, light bar from Argos, chipboard for shelves from Homebase and the LED lights from Amazon.
In all, probably spent around £70, just need to get some airflow/extraction sorted.

The LEDs are 450 Lumens, 6500K Cool White with a frosted cover and give a nice white light

The stool is an old office chair base with a really long gas lift fitted and the seat's a chopping board! (already had the chair, chopping board was a fiver)

Good light for pics too, minimal shadow

And there was me painting a lexan shell out in the garden yesterday in between bouts of wind and rain.... With rubbish bags taped around the fence so no over spray annoyed the wife... Jealous doesn't come close.

Nice budget paint shop, when are you open for business? :)

Isn't it funny how we come up with these simple cost effective answers to problems we've dealt with for years, and then smack ouselves in the face to say I should have done this years ago.

Nice neat solution.  I need to take some pics of mine - it's in the middle of the garage, using 3 sets of shower curtains to stop overspray from going over anything nearly.  Also keeps a reasonable degree of heat in.

Have you considered using halogen spotlamps for colder weather?  I have a set of portable workshop lights that give out plenty of heat, if I turn them on 30 minutes before I want to paint it gets the air temp right up and evaporates any moisture.  My shower curtains means the spray booth isn't sealed, so when the air is heated it can take the moisture out with it.  For the first time ever, I can paint all year round :)

I do need to clear the rest of the garage so it doesn't get used as a dumping ground tho, and make a point of wiping the surfaces down before I start as it gets really dusty in there...

This will be much better than my paint booth. Mine is a walkers crisp box (other crisps are available ) on an old garden table, under a gazebo.
