mtbkym01 4008 Posted May 10, 2022 Wow, I know I’ve not been around too much lately, mega busy, but having to go 10 pages in to find my thread shows I’ve been away quite a while, and now my last project is now actually finished: I present...............The Wild Fox (Mind the stickers on the Og Fox, they are quite poor, this MCI Order I got another set to redo that one)

mtbkym01 4008 Posted May 10, 2022 Thanks for the comments guys, I’m really happy with this rebuild, feels like it’s worthy of a place now, whereas before it never really grabbed me on my first restore of a pretty ordinary Wild One. And thanks to @KalEl63 for the encouragement and ideas.
mtbkym01 4008 Posted August 14, 2022 So to celebrate my 50th Birthday I was greeted by a positive Covid test the morning of, so to say the least it was a quiet one. Part way through my compulsory isolation (7 days enforced), I started to feel a little better so ventured out into my Hobby Room and weighed up which kit to crack open. A few hours over a couple days and here’s what I have: Its still quite cold here so the painting will be a while away, but I have started “rectifying” the body in preparation And decided on a “popped” sunroof My plan for the body is gonna be a little bit different for this one, may end up disastrous or may be cool so we will see…

Edit: oh and happy 50th mate and hope the Covid has passed now🙂 Edited August 14, 2022 by Kol__ Well wishes

I put a mip diff in it with brushless and 2s lipo........on its maiden voyage it pirouetted on its roof and subsequently went just as fast on its roof all the way down the street kissing the curbs on its final display........morale of the story is don't put a fully tightened mip diff into something that is relatively unstable its only going to go one way!

Oh no! That is one of my biggest fears, especially with these hard body kits. I’ve built this to be a runner, but body damage has me concerned for sure. This paint needs to harden for 7 days before I can clear coat it, so hopefully I will get to finish the kit next week. Then I’ll need to decide what kit to build next, still have an Egress, Bruiser, CC02 Bronco to name a few waiting to build

mtbkym01 4008 Posted January 21, 2023 It may or may not be known that I am a bit of a Ford man, so when this appeared on the shelf at my LHS, I just couldn't resist. (Unfortunately the real one of these isn’t sold in Australia, coz if it was, I would be hard pressed to resist). Had a bit of time this morning, so opened up the CC02 to check out the build manual, in particular the body, this will almost be like building a static model based on all the accessories the body gets, got the Lexan trimmed, then primed and painted the grille and wheels with TS14 as per manual, There are a lot of parts that will require priming and painting with TS29 as well, I will need more primer first though. Its a start at least
mtbkym01 4008 Posted January 22, 2023 Half hour spare today so a tiny update…. (lots of reflection from my skylight) and tyres on wheels, these feel pretty hard despite looking the business
Aerobert 2149 Posted January 22, 2023 That's a nice start. Looking forward to the build.

mtbkym01 4008 Posted January 28, 2023 Had a couple hours this morning, decided to do some chassis building, so bags A and B are complete Decided to build it with the gears arranged for low range, to slow down the kit silver can. Hopefully its not too slow
mtbkym01 4008 Posted January 28, 2023 Finished my other house jobs early, so managed to complete Bag C as well A couple of observations so far, It reminds me a little of my CR01 build, and the quality of the plastics feels very high, with the main transmission seeming like a carbon impregnated plastic.
