Onto the build, using this jewellery

IMG_8566.jpeg

High speed gearset

IMG_8569.jpeg

IMG_8570.jpeg

Carbon shock towers

IMG_8571.jpeg

More titanium turnbuckles

IMG_8572.jpeg

IMG_8573.jpeg

IMG_8575.jpeg

Big bores are frowned upon, and HiCaps are just crazy expensive for these now, so a set of these

IMG_8576.jpeg

will be built with these

IMG_8577.jpeg

And here’s the result

Rear clip basically done

Then moving on to main chassis, didnt take many pics of this step. Using high torque saver on the same servo that i used in the FW Fox

IMG_8585.jpeg

I also had this steering set from a TA02 from years ago that I didn’t use so though this kit is a good candidate for it

Transponder ready

Way cool man way cool. My thoughts on the wheels: The lightweights make the car look like a runner whereas the pepper dots make the car look more top shelf. Both look awesome. No idea what I said that, just went with first impressions.

WOW another fantastic build , looks great .  great choice on the gold screws and choices on parts and the colour ....

Yep , I would just put that on the shelf as well . This is the problem whit great build cars , don't want to scratch or damage it ..

So whats the next build bud ???? ...

Still debating @matman mate. Could be a Fighting Buggy, or a Kyosho something, or maybe a Schumacher CAT XLS restoration. Too many choices LOL

What have you been up to mate?

I have a choice of wheels, lightweights

She's a stunner mate and so very different from any other TF I've seen👍👍

If you're looking for a name, I think the 'Top Force Chupa Chups Special Edition' would be a nice fit, as its definitely got a strawberries and cream vibe about it😉

Can you put up some more shots of the completed chassis? Looks great mate😎

Not much these days RC , have been 3D printing and playing with Raspberry PI's  , just working to keep food on the table .

Schumacher CAT, i would love to get one day , wanted one in the 80's . SO CAT would be my choice .

Next project onto the work bench is this first re-release Fighting Buggy. I’ve had this NIB since they came out in 2014, awaiting its turn, and that time is now. Probably not an ideal time of year (Southern hemisphere winter) for a hard body that will require paint, so the body may have to wait a bit.

Anyway, onto the chassis

IMG_7698.jpeg

And who doesn’t love Blisters?

IMG_7699.jpeg

Step 1 and it’s time for a hop up I’ve also had for a long time

IMG_8660.jpeg

IMG_8661.jpeg

It’s been a number of years since I’ve built a SRB and I must say, for a Plastic Model Company, these things sure have a lot of metal

This one getting a nice black can motor

IMG_8662.jpeg

IMG_8663.jpeg

This rear end is very unique with the oil reservoir, theres still a couple air bubbles in there that I am continuing to work out of the line, but its quite a work of art

IMG_8665.jpeg

And attached to the chassis plate

IMG_8666.jpeg

Next will be the all metal front end….

Umm... something seems off about that motor. That text should not be that yellow. I think you may have bought a fake, which probably means you are not going to get any better performance than the stock silver can.

This video has a nice bit about how to tell the genuine ones from the fakes:

It seems that they don't give the performance upgrade that one might hope for, but if you bought it just for the black can aesthetic rather than the power, I guess that doesn't matter?

Oh I’m aware it’s non-genuine. It’s pure ascetics only, mainly for the black and red wires, as most of the can is hidden in these anyway. I’m also aware I could just change the motor wires on the stock silver can, but had this sitting there anyway. And like most of my collection, reality is it wont really get run much, but will still be fully functional

So onto the front, and more metal from the Plastic Model Company :D

IMG_8667.jpeg

And onto the chassis plate it goes, along with the servo saver

IMG_8668.jpeg

IMG_8669.jpeg

And in goes a servo with an alloy servo horn I has laying around, Its a bit chunky, but better than what is called for in the instruction manual.

IMG_8670.jpeg

And time for a quick sneak with the body on - loving this

IMG_8671.jpeg

Next is electronics and radio tray…..

Radio tray time

Going with a generic 1060 esc and SR300 RX paired to my trusty old DX3R

Firstly, I considered battery options, and found that a full size lipo fits in without the mount or little MB10 rubber posts.

IMG_8672.jpeg

The the radio tray secures it nicely in place

IMG_8674.jpeg

Trying these on this one, on my other SRB’s I’ve used fully alloy wheels, but this time trying just the alloy caps

IMG_0201.jpeg

IMG_0200.jpeg

Quality is very nice

Small update, got the primer down on the body and parts (Been waiting on some mildly warmer weather)

IMG_8768.jpeg

IMG_8769.jpeg

And started trimming stickers from the 2 sets I’m using (The Tamiya’s and MCI’s to “correct” the Fighting Buggy ones)

IMG_8770.jpeg

Now I need to decide on body colour, want to do something different to just box art
