Rules allow it just make sure you show the gearbox housing is stock in the video so it's more camera work that needs needs to be accurate

'All' I want to do is modify the stock dt03 spur shaft to take df03 spur gears, as I've loads of them, and hopefully the slipper would be a bonus.

Woukd the gearing options be the same? Would your mod allow lower toothed spur gears?

i think the rules allow this but it's not clear, we only talked about allowing high speed gear sets and aftermarket gears, nothing about what you're proposing, trust you!

See what the others think before we decide yay or nay, as you aren't modifying the gearbox casing just the internal gears.

It would give me 4 different spur options (maybe more, buts that's what I have in my toy box,plus a dozen pinions from 15t - 32t) 

I've got 1 standard pinion for the dt03.....

Well then it wouldn't be on the same level playing field as a DT03 running stock gearing ( with no mods done) so I'm inclined to put it in the modified Tamiya section as this will allow crazy high gearing compared to a stock DT03.

I'll go clear up that rule 5 a bit as it's too ambiguous right now

Wooders feel free to modify your DT03 internal gears as you described but you'll go into the modified Tamiya category ( you'll be too as there isn't an entry yet)

Right ok, thought I'd ask before I started chopping gears, and doing a mod and not saying anything isn't sporting.

Guess I'll try the, tried and tested, over sized wheels/tyres and 20t pinion option first 😛

No I prefer to keep my lipo's  under the shell rather than over it... Less chance of the mushroom cloud and it still looks like a Tamiya flying down the straightaway

 

Did you see the world record RC car at about 212MPH? It didn't look like a car, looked more like a shelf!

That's only a risk if you crash it! With the nature of the competition, on quiet empty car parks, risk is minimal. What's the slogan on the rear wing of the neo fighter again? 🙄

I just ordered an M Chassis! lol   I have been reading back through the thread and I love Speedy's car so much I had to have one.   Whats going on with it? and any hint's on M05 upgrades?

I think Jason needs to stop hording dust of his fleet and get that top spot back
