Thats awesome, embracing the 5s, that needs its own category! Custom bumper?

Umm, can you reuse those tyres...?

Steady on, we don't like too many categories, and I need something to catch those pesky touring car's!! 🙄

Needed something to keep the front down and hold a lipo, flat bar welded to angle iron. 🔨🔨

Yep, but going to be with added superglue! School boy error presuming they'd been glued, think they woke the workmen up though! Serves them right for making my drag strip 20ft shorter 😕

Nice run Wooders.

Lol I was going to ask where the front tyres ended up..... Wooders what diameter are those rear tyres, these need entering into the speed run post please ;p

If you give it full beans from a standing start will it just wheelspin and spin out or still lift the front end??????

Forgot to measure them 😕, states 2.8" wheel.

Not a clue yet, that's the first time and only run I've done with them on! (Made me work in work so didn't have much set up time 😔) Didn't think it was too bad,as a standing start, no full throttle until it came past me, check out run!

The tyres dont feel as grippy as the fastrax i tried, but the fastrax ballooned like mad and struggled to keep it in a straight line, even with the diff locked.

Was out again today with the FF03 but still no good run :(.  I had just got it handling nice after a few traditional high speed tumbles when the shaft that the spur attaches to seized up, I'm looking forward to seeing the carnage when I get to take it apart.

It wasn't all bad as I did smash my personal best using my HPI Sport 3 with an 88.7Mph run (3s and 5700Kv). Was absolutely ecstatic especially as my friend had just beat my best time by pulling a 84Mph run from nowhere. His previous best was 65Mph :)

I'm thinking about a similar setup for my TT02 project.......

Are the fastrax tyres pre-mounts? If not then you can use duct tape to stop them ballooning, just turn them inside out stick a strip of duct tape to the inside of the tyre and then turn them back to the right way round. The tape will act as a belt to stop the tyres from ballooning and high speed. You may want to try balancing the wheels as well so that you don't suffer from vibration at high speeds.

Yes, as I've gone to 2.8" rims and tyres to increase the gearing, i thought it easier just to buy wheel/tyre pre glued. They'll be sound for beach running though.

I think that's what smirk-racing did with the lunchbox speed run. The idea of fishing line run between the tread was suggested too.

The road outside work isn't the most grippy and has a steep camber.

Nice to see this vintage chassis finally make it into the thread. I need to find some free time to run my brushless hotshot for these entries.

It rolled towards the boot opening when I took the neo fighter out, in a herbie esque, what about me!! 😀

I'd taken the marui ninja out the other day so it wouldnt get damaged, otherwise that would have had a workout too!

Brushless hotshot will be cool 😎

I've been told the Boomerang is pretty bulletproof and it ran fine for me with a 17.5T brushless and boost etc on the ESC...when will that see the 5S?

I don't think the boomerang will be given the 5S brushless treatment, unless of course theres a vintage 4WD category added in the future...🤔

Good afternoon, I see you've beaten my DT03 top speed by 1KPH...... that means the extra 2s lipo gave you an extra 0.5KPH per cell......... I'm hoping for more top speed out of this hefty 5s set up sir!

Great run... 90KPH is fun eh?!

Good morning! (Not long up after nightshift 🙄)

Top of 2wd by 1kph and top of 4wd by 1kph, not that it's close or anything!! 😀

I'm sure both 5s set ups can give more, just need to find a better / longer place to run, you can hear it still pulling when I have to hit the anchors. The only trouble of adding another 2s is weight, especially as it's hanging off the front, needed to be substantial!

I'm keeping an eye out for another 5700 castle, a 4 pole,as I'm sure some of the kv have fallen out somewhere along the line!! 🤔

It's all good fun😎, with it being that heavy now, it's still quite stable too!

Re-magnetise?

Didn't think that would be worth the effort / expense? Not be cheaper waiting on a 2nd hand 4 pole?

Stonehaven rccc have a massive tc track with a stupidly long main straight. I've heard tales of boosted touring cars hitting 70+ mph on it. Might be a bit far to go just for a top spot run tho.

Only get a chance to run is on my way home off a nightshift, so that 240 mile round trip would put 5 hrs onto my drive home from work!! lol 🤔

Awesome work again bud and you really do need to find somewhere bigger to run ;) I wouldn't give up on the motor as it's much more likely that the KV is increasing a little as you show it who the boss is :)

Here's my RS4 pass:

Hi Wooders, don't know how much this would cost, but motor manufacturer did state loss in Kv usually due to magnets being weak and resolution would be re-magnetise.
