Yeah you see, I think the whole 4 pole situation had me fooled. Because I have a 3500 2 pole from radient reaktor in my Tomahawk and found that quite civilised, so I thought that 4600 4 pole would be a nice pairing to the Optima. Popped it in and instantly soiled my pants as that went like a scolded cat. I should probably read up on how to do something to the ecu to be less Evil Knievel and more James May.

Once you've got a bucket load of oomph, you have to drive them a bit different.

I think he's a Rossa member, crazy gearing.

Knowing me, I would of tried to save the car instead of watching and yes I do realise the danger.  I have already decided that in my tool box will be protective eye wear, gloves and a fire blanket.

I once just got a smoking 4s lipo out of my 1/8 Truggy about 10 seconds before it burst into flames.. then sat watching it bonfire itself whilst my RC was safe... I've lightening quick reactions though and sprinted over to it from 50m away just in time.

On another occasion I had to jump in my car and go drive up to a failed RC... but this video guy managed to combine both those events into one... poor guy.

Dont worry people who've entered runs lately. I'll update the lists over the weekend, it's been too hot in London for free time... I've onlybeen trying to keep cool lately.

Hyperlite, you're moving up the leaderboard in number of cars entered!

Once you get these up to 50mph you're gonna need a longer run space than on your doorstep!

2S = 6446 at the axles = 90.83kph

3S = 9670 at the axles = 136.2kph =85.16mph = change of underpants and socks if you're not on a runway

 

These numbers will not be important for anyone else but for me.... golden!

Tomorrow I'm running out the 3s lipo on 6900kv with the 19/70 gearing... if the above numbers hold true and I can handle the car it might get 111KPH.... I'd prefer a flatter run space than that undulating IKEA car park!

TA03R Speed Run

Bought the Chassis for spares to fix my TA03F....but decided to run it instead.

A few teething problems with the belt coming off....but finally got some good results.

I think I can break 60....just need a good stretch. And also need to get the steering fine tuned, it's a bit erratic at the moment.

I really need to find a better camera position to make it less boring as well!

I struggled to see the car at all on the run, have you tried taping the camera  (phone?) to the tx?

What's the power output from the 3 cell Lipo you're using ? I used a 4000mah on mine. I'm off out with the hotshot tomorrow with a bit of luck, and am hoping to get 60kph from it on 4000Kv motor and 2 cell Lipo, also got a wild one and a GF-01 to run as well.
