I initially cut the body for the twin motor set up as it increases the wheelbase by a few cm's...but then put it back to a Standard 03R set up. So don't really know if it makes a difference.

I need to stiffen the front suspension as at full chat of scrapes (as you can hear on the video)

Yes....it's a rubbish video....but hopefully it's just about legible :)

What's the power output from the 3 cell Lipo you're using ? I used a 4000mah on mine. I'm off out with the hotshot tomorrow with a bit of luck, and am hoping to get 60kph from it on 4000Kv motor and 2 cell Lipo, also got a wild one and a GF-01 to run as well.

It's a 3300Mah Gens Ace, knocking on 5 years old but still going strong.

Bah just started lightly raining here and the DF02 hasn't got Waterproof electrics, I had everything ready to go.

Nice speed run Phil, 96KPH, look at the big balls on that, and in a short run space too, gotta love these 4wd's

Foam tyres and 4wd are a must for a short space. Although the tyres are on their last legs now. Ordering some more this weekend.

May get another run in today or tomorrow, need to squeeze 1morr KPH lol. Although all ready running curb to curb so will have to try and go diagonal.

Just ordered some Electric Foams. They have a harder compound on the outside edges to reduce traction rolls....

I must of rolled that 03R about 10 times yesterday.

4 official speed run entries:

DF-02 86Km/h, 53.44mph

GF-01 - 28km/h, 17.40mph

Hotshot 50km/h, 31.07mph,

Wild One 56km/h, 34.80mph

DF-02 86Km/h, 53.44mph replacement for my previous 78km/h run, exactly the same setup as the previous run but with a freshly charged battery. Got quite a bit of glitching on this run and the car wouldn't go in a straight line, so it may have a bit more to give yet.

GF-01 - 28km/h, 17.4mph Bog standard kit with ballraces, kit motor and gearing, Hobbywing 1060 and a 3S LiPo

Hotshot, Ezrun 8.5T combo, 4000Kv 2 pole motor, and 60A ESC, 2S LiPo, 17T pinion 50km/h, 31.07mph, mediocre.....

Wild One, Trinity 27T stock motor, 18T pinion, roller bearings, Hobbywing 1060, 3S LiPo 2450mah, 56km/h, 34.8mph

Mad Inventor... arrgghhh I just spent 30 minutes updating the lists with the previous 6 or so entries from Wooders and Hyperlite lol... then I just saw your new post for 4 entries..... give me strength ;)

Just kidding I'll put them on later I promise.

In other news it didn't rain much today so I got out and.....

Some great runs @MadInventor

I'm loving the 1060 and 3s too, wish we had them bitd!

The iffy steering on my dt03 turned out to be the servo pushing past max steering and pushing the servo saver "spring", which didn't centralise. Altered the end point and it was fine after then.

My 97.9KPH run was not without failure though, I ran it again and got 97KPH but in the horsing around afterwards the 27MHz glitches ( it did prior to the runs too) and it pelted a couple times into the kerbs.

Resulting damage include a snapped rear hub and a cracked front lower gearbox  case where the U pin goes through the arms.

It was worth it though, the Buggy flew and without the 27Mhz radio gliching it was handling well... although it did lose power after the max throttle runs so maybe the esc is at its limit on this hefty set up.

MI - just quickly watched your DF02 run before taking my daughter for her Mandarin class, at 86 KPH that is good going on 27Mhz, nice open area with no interference might help. Lol'd at you using the long grass as a safety run off area... better than my kerbs ;)

Good stuff @Jason1145

Old school radio gear and using the GPS as ballast 👍

I'm off to search Google earth......

And I added 120g of wheel weights to the front just in case, good luck with your searching.

Yeah, I've had issues with 27Mhz glitching as well, you can hear it on the video, it won't hold full throttle at a distance from me. It also does not track in a straight line, got to look at the steering setup to see if I can centralise it. Also my car can't seem to keep both front wheels on the ground, seems to skip from one to the other, wondering if I'm getting chassis twist or if it's just bad damper setup.

I was pleased with the Wild one run, I thought 56km/h was pretty good from a 27 turn motor, could be really quick on HW1060 and 3S with a  good 18turn motor.

Off back to the workshop now to carry on with the War Rig :)

Nice runs!

I didn't even manage to hold 2nd overall or 1st 4WD 😂 Lol

Going back out today.....although I have bits missing off my tyres so not holding up much hope!

98kph is my goal now!

It looked fairly planted, remove a weight or 2?

Not sure if this area would be legal?

The drag strip at York is about halfway between us, if you fancy a days speed testing?!? 🤔

Yep I'm done for the weekend now as far as speed runs go, good luck to the rest of you especially Phil, hope you beat my 4wd Entry... not! ;)

Looks like I need a new chassis as the front u pin holder that snapped is molded into it

Maybe it gets light at the front just from the passing air tryng to lift it... maybe some weights too if the damper issue isn't apparent?

Wooders York is nearly a 4 hour drive from London haha.. I'm used to making a 5-10 drive for my runs.. I'll have to pass thank you ;)

So....I live/work on an active Airfield. I was a bit naughty today and used a bit of currently disused Taxi way, I've been avoiding it as I'll probably get told off, but this thing was never going to get to max chat without it.

Same spec as my last run...but this time full throttle for long enough to record a max speed.

109kph....67.7mph!!!

Boom! Top of the table!

Was very shocked when I saw the reading (But I kept my excitement contained haha)

Well done sir!

That's some play ground 😁👍👍

I'm guessing my local airfield isn't going to let me play on it, if you work on one and you've been naughty?!?

Phil that's not a valid video pal, you know the rules, it's been spliced, cut, edited from one continuous sequence...right from after the zero reading to putting the body shell on... but it's not a problem just go back a re-Edit it all uncut... did you use two camera'?

Great speed but the rules are there for this very reason, I know it ain't  a problem to you.

Once submitted properly it'll go top of the leaderboard!

Pfft I was only top 4WD for an afternoon lol.

I just flipped the camera angle so you didn't need to hold your screen on its side, nothing was cut out...no splicing etc...

But happy to upload the un edited one ;)
