Crystal clear video!

Vid shot in highest 4k setting with the S7 edge taped to the handset, same as my other vids. The pic of the handset with the taped on S7 was taken with the shift phone  (cat b100).

I sneaked out yesterday to do some runs at a new spot, the road looks awesome but it was way too dusty and didn't have enough grip for the foam tyres. The TT02 managed 55Mph with ease but it was all over the place which is most likely being caused by the significant steering slop. It's actually that bad that I'm thinking I must have missed some washers or giant shims when assembling it and it has to be sorted before I run it again.  I noticed the price of the Tamiya steering set and I'm loathed to pay that as this was supposed to be my budget build.  Here's a crappy video anyway, at the end you see my FF03 go past then I line it for another run and drive it full throttle into my mates Jag :)  Not my finest moment but luckily this time I have the parts on the shelf...... maybe next time :)

if doing speed runs there will be bigger issues if you hit anything :)

All part of the fun ;)  Do you know if I can shoe horn a gear diff in the rear and if so what parts I would need?  I've been looking at your The RC Racer website it's very impressive! I actually read the 419x article before I bought it and it stopped me from buying a Schumacher at the time and now it's got me wanting a TB Evo 07.

Another e-bay purchase, I need help!  Should pick it up on Sunday again.

Nice, rain in Clevedon has stopped play to....

Just down the road do you know of any good run spots ? :)   Your welcome to come run with me and my mate at our usual spot (behind the mall) and @Catchy can't be far either if he's doing the bridge run all the time, perhaps a Bristol speed run Saturday!

I never managed to get my TT01 to stay in a straight line at speed, even with the hop up steering. I've got rid of it now..along with my TA03. Made some room for the TA04 and 'Project X' ;)

TT02 Looks quick though, get some grip and get it straight....certainly a contender for the top spot.

I've fixed the TA04 driveshaft issue (I hope)...put some longer ones in. Just need to wait until the weekend and dry weather! I will crack 70mph!!!!!

Cool, yeah sounds like a plan, I had a couple of spots I had found on google earth but they turned out to be a bumpy or to many trucks there laying up in the evenings....

Gotta be somewhere in Avonmouth thats quiet in the evening?

I want someone to run the tt02 on full speed run.  The TT02B gets wild on the steering even will full upgrades. It's just torque. Mine has a castle 4600, 64/29 spur/pinion, and a 50c 3s lipo. I power wheelie at 55mph if I gun the throttle.  The standard model should stay glued to the ground with its low stance.

The TT02 sounds skittish, having kerbs at either side to bounce off doesn't instill confidence to get it up to full speed either,  I think big empty car parks are the best place to run but they can still be littered with obstacles, it's almost like council planners and big enterprise haven't considered our needs :(

Was thinking the same, that spot in the Video is in Seven Beech on a newish bit of the industrial estate.  I'll try and do a reccy at Avonmouth and as soon the forecast good it's speed run Saturday :)

I haven't given up on it yet :)  I'll run it at my usual spot and see how it gets on but I'm thinking converting it to TT02s spec at the front might be the answer.  I'm also running a Castle 4 pole 4600kv motor and it definitely has some oomph on 3s!

Have you made any progress on the GPS problem?

I gave up on it for now. I kept breaking front FRP towers so I put the stock plastic one in and the torque from the motor flexes the front end enough the universals pop out. So a black GPM aluminum front shock tower is on order. My full Tamiya build is getting more and more off brand parts on it 😒

Without scanning through 55 pages... who has the fastest Brushed runner?

And also, anyone attempted an off road speed entry?

I've noticed the fairways over the road are pretty well trimmed :), might do an off road run with a Buggy or Monster Truck.

I think only off roads runs should count, that would be a level playing field 🙄😁.......I'll get my coat.

Can't remember a brushed entry holding a place in the lists.

I was thinking of trying out this speed run thing but I haven't yet converted to the 'Brushless and LiPo thang' so I've pretty much abandoned the idea as I just wouldn't get a decent speed on the list. It's a shame as I'd bought an F201 specifically for this...

How's about splitting categories? Add Brushed and Brushless sub-categories (e.g. 4WD Brushed, 4WD Brushless, RWD Brushed, etc.) with sub-sub-categories denoting Nickle (6v - 9.6v) and Lithium (LiPo/LiIon/LiFe, (1s - 4s?) plus voltage) power. There'd also need to be a separation for Nitro. (if there isn't one already)

It should be easy enough to set everything up on a spreadsheet or something, keep it all tidy and nice looking for a screencap for the first page, so what do you think? (it's been a while since I've used a spreadsheet but I'm pretty sure it won't be difficult.)

I've the bullhead, ninja and a boomerang! The latter being the quickest.

Off road, one persons off road will be different to another persons...

Not on a road?!?

The quickest off road, would be a bowling green, golf course. (Freshly cut, level playing field.....)

Have you tried maplin for a battery, they do a load for the helicopters and drones they sell. E.g.

Its been suggested a few times, but takes valuable time to sort through and edit etc.

I think it was put forward that if anyone had lots of spare time and knew how to do spreadsheet thingy me bobs, they were free to crack on and compile one.

To cater for all chassis and to keep things simple, cars should be grouped by how many cells are used.

If an Outlaw class was introduced, I would fully support this as it would allows members to develop ideas instead of just off the shelf mods.  If rules were relaxed, we would see some cracking cars and ideas.

The only rule, for now, that I would employ would be that all components would have to fit under shell.

With the off road car's needing more cells to stay with the TC chassis on 'home turf', may as well just run an off road and on road group, and I'm quite enjoying the , nail more power on, approach atm 🙄😁

If an outlaw class was introduced, would the speeds be included into the 'tamiya fastest', when they wouldn't be?

Although I'd fully support and enjoy the class, I'm liking the actual simplicity of using '"stock" tamiya chassis and available parts.

I'd love a brushed class, even just a silver can class, as more people can join in and enjoy the A̶d̶d̶i̶c̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶ fun.

Ok...so here we go..

This has taken me ages to get, broken driveshaft, broken suspension......wheel falling off

On this run (I got 4 runs all with the same speed) I lost the signal, the 1st run I rolled it, 2nd run it went off into the grass and the cleanest run I forgot to hit record!, my ESC is set to 0% Brake with no throttle/signal ...should really change that. It free wheeled about 50ft. So slightly long video because of that.  I'm sure Jason will except it . Although I'm keen to get a decent few passes with it.

TA04SS

40T Pinion

77T Spur

5200kv

3300 3s Lipo (30c)

126km/h (78mph)  !!!!!!

I got the same speed last week....but had a massive off, so couldn't really submit it.

I think a brushed category would lead to "who can make the biggest ESC fireball"

What more encouragement do we need!!😁

Tbh,I'm not doing too bad anyway.
