it's actually .2kph as I ran 59kph...

I'll wait for some wind before my next run :)

Good work...and the FF03! :o

Just had a thought about this...my SkyRC GPS doesn't read as acurate...

My SAT Nav goes to 1 decimal place, may have to run again with the Sat Nav. Although the Silver Can may have been destroyed, i'll bath it later and give it a go.

It couldn't be any closer :)  Just wait for a windy day

I'll send you a fresh can if needed.

On my first FF03 run yesterday the front foam tyres let go and launched the car into my mates camera. It was the Matrix ones which up until then had been very good, I think they must have got damaged in the last big tumble.

I've just had a quick look on Ebay and found:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RS-550VC-Motor-DC-6V-24V-High-Speed-Carbon-Brush-for-Electric-Drill-Garden-Tools-/282472472439?hash=item41c4abdf77:g:dRkAAOSw~y9ZC~lt

For a few quid you can get a 550 power drill motor which is more or less a direct replacement for a silver can, the only differences being that they have an internal fan and are good for 24V. It might be worth considering allowing these to save a lot of smoked silver cans, given the low cost of them. I had a pair fitted in a clod buster years ago and I don't think there's much of a difference (if any) between these and a 'standard' silver can when run at the same voltages.

Thoughts everybody ........

Very nice and cheap too but I love the smell of a hot sliver can in the morning so thumbs down from me.

Wow...not seen that before. Mine have a few chunks out of them, but still well fixed on to the rim. Lucky there was no major damage!

Thanks for the offer of a SC....I've got an old one to try, and will see if the smoky one is still alive later. I'll probbaly buy a handful from Hobbyking for future destruction :)

Bit of both for me, foams grip better and control at high speed is easier due to no ballooning.

Tested the Motor earlier....screen shot from the video....

went pop!

It's a 550!?!

I thought a 'silver can' was a generic name for a mabuchi 540 size, once fitted to almost all rc car's out of the box, motor?

If it just needs to be silver and can looking, I've an 11 double that would pass.

Managed to get a couple of lipo packs through, then a 3s and 2 x 2s packs back to back before the boomerang motor went fizz.

I've got some updating to do on the lists I know I know lol... I'm just too busy doing my own RC thing today like bodging up a new shell for my M03 :(

Yeah, I know, I just thought for the price we'd be able to go fast cheaply without all the fireworks.........

Brought out the big guns for that .2kph I need!

New 30mm Foams on the rear (right one in pic), and a Johnson Silver Can...although it's probably about 30+yrs old...so who knows!

It could of just overheated and died due to Wooders grade abuse, I may still go to 4s .   Was thinking about dry ice earlier.....

Did you get a run in and the fizz on film?

Yep, just abuse! 😂

The vid on the club's facebook is the only one of the boomerang , (there's one of the optima mid running on there somewhere too), funny how when you see smoke pouring from a car you immediately think LIPO FIRE 🤤 , then actually relieved when it's only the motor 😁

Updated Silver Can Run.

Same 3s set up as before...just this time with a Vintage 'Johnson' Silver Can + New 30mm Foams on the rear and old foams on the front.

Loads more grip and control (fixed the servo)....and the 30mm Foams have a slightly larger diameter to the 26's.

61kph/37.9mph ;)

Video has 2 Speed readings and then it tailed off...so fast forwarded it to the end so any doubters can see the Silver Can properly :)
