I've got the traction problem solved, but I have now reached an aerodynamics issue in which I have an idea to fix. At speed, my front bumper is pushing down and trying to fold under the front of the car. It digs into the road and sends the car tumbling. I have some 1/4" Poplar that I am going to use to make a brace. At first, I thought I was hitting small rocks, but then I saw it happen as the car was coming towards me. Pretty much just posting to show the video and see if anyone else has encountered similar aero problems like this.

The last clip, I got a bit squirrely and slid into my 1:1 truck.

I use gorilla tape to reinforce the body, if there is lots of flex I add Lexan strips.

Tomorrow, fingers crossed :)

Friday didn't go to plan, a couple of big offs and problems with the c-clip that locks the spur gear in place.  Surprisingly no damage to the chassis though :)

I dropped the spur size buy 9 teeth and I didn't pick up any more speed and i'm not sure what the problem is so some work needed before I try again.

Lucky there was no damage...

That race for 100+ is not easy :)

I think it'll be similar to the big tyres I put on the neo fighter issue, not enough power to drive such a tall gear, with drag,to double the speed, you need 4x the power.

He is getting good, I'm not sure I would have stayed still with the car flying through the air towards me.

I've been looking at the data log and I think I need more amps in the battery (4500Mah) although I do suspect that torque is the underlying issue as the motor is only roughly a 4.5 turn. The ripple voltage was just over 2.5v even with the capacitor pack fitted and I'm down nearly 500 Watts on peak power compared to the 94.8Mph run.  I'm determined to hit the triple on 3s although slapping in a 4s has crossed my mind more than a couple of times :)

I've got my eye on your RWD record next ............  :D

I don't think he had much choice to get out the way or not at that speed, I could've dodged it but I'm dead nimble.

How much more jam you going to take out of the speed run doughnut?

Too much jam is bad for you ask your dentist! Jammy ****** lol.

I've just ordered my SKYRC GSM-010 GPS Speed Meter... Finally!

Approx. 4-6 Weeks ETA from HK though :( all in the attempt to save £12 (if UK Customs doesn't interfere). Where did everyone else get their speed meters from?

A pair of skyrc ones on eBay.

Ones set to mph and the other kph (as per bullhead fudged run)

Were you able to get the software to work, to change between mph and kph? I couldn't get it to work.

I think your most number of cars record is safe bud :D

I still have quite a few milestones to hit and I really enjoying the fettling and the satisfaction if it pays off.  This thread has turned me into to a borderline Tamiya fan boy, at least six new Tamiya chassis since I joined the forum and I blame you for that :)

Any of you on Xbox live?

Although been offline for some time (baby & RC's)...may be back on over the winter.  Mainly Forza, possibly Project Cars 2. Overwatch & BF1 in the last yr or so also.

Cheers I'll keep that wooden spoon ;)

Glad to have given you an addiction, we all got it here for various reasons, can't even figure what it is about Tamiya I like so much but that's cool, it must fill a void I'm not aware of!

Wish I had time for video games :(

I hear ya, my original PS3 got damaged in the house move and there's absolutely no point upgrading to a PS4 anytime soon (or at least this decade, until the kids want one, obviously 🤔)

Funny you say that, I just spent a couple of hours playing Super Mario Brothers on Wii with my wifes friend who played it years ago. She saw the Wii out and asked to come over.

I realise that doesn't really count though...

This story does nothing to cheer me up... although it might inspire me to re-try my lame Megadrive this weekend and if that still bores me after 5 minutes I'll put it up on Ebay to raise funds for RC

The old games don't really stack up anymors do they? I found that the Super Mario on Wii was a great update because it still felt like the original from the NES but was improved in so many little ways that it actually held mynattentioj long enough to finish it, about 10 years ago. Now its still fun, but a friend bought an N64 which was their favourite BITD and its pretty average

N64 has best MarioKart, that's all that counts

Although finally new MarioKart on Switch looks pretty decent, but I ain't paying a grand to own a 4-player Switch getup.
