no not the same chassis

best to modify: probably the monster beetle

best to drive: for sure the madbull

Can you help tell me what chassis are for each

well, the monster beetle chassis is called blackfoot chassis, others call it orv chassis

the lunchbox chassis is the cw-01

the mad bull comprises the dt-01 chassis

for more info you can check

i got the monster beetle and the mad bull (also the lunchbox, but unbuilt). from my experience the mad bull is the car to buy. not as fragile as the monster beetle (well you can modify it, but thats somewhat expensive). the mad bull with additional ballbearings and oil shocks is one of the best bashers you can get :)

If he likes Monster trucks, I have 2 of the three above (lunchbox and mad bull) and I'd say none of the above, I'd go with the WT01 as best to drive and modify. For some reason Tamiya UK aren't bringing them in but Tamico has them as does USA;

you can fit all sorts of shells to them and they're a modifiers dream! Just ask or search for a load more info

or the narrow track WT01-N sibling...

That's the difference!!!! The narrow..... I like the narrow better for as far as looks go in sure the W handles way better but the N reminds me more of the Blackfoot/Monster Beetle

The narrow is easy to convert but you have to buy longer wishbone arms, rear driveshafts and steering rods. I've only used my N indoors so far but it seems pretty stable from what I've seen, I'll be turning my N into a top speed runner for the speed challenge thread!

If the N reminds you of a blackfoot, how about a modern twist on the blackfoot?!

vs widetrack stance;

Blackfoot below,this is the actual WT01 blackfoot III (out of stock at most places at the moment but as far as I'm aware still in production), the above is an Amarok with BFIII livery

Are the mad bulls really that fun??? My cw01s (lunchbox etc.) are pretty fun

Yes they are! They can cross most terrain with ease, and don't fall over!

It depends on what you want to modify them to do. The Lunch Box is basic and durable. It's the most unstable of the group, but can pull wheelies (though less wheelie-prone than the Wild Willy in my opinion). It's simple design means that while there are mods to be done (third shock mod, braces, oil shocks, etc.) it has limited potential without major redesigns. The Madbull is also simple and durable. Pretty much the same applies to modding it as the Lunch Box. Unlike the Lunch Box, it's not wheelie-prone and is actually very stable. The Monster Beetle has the most performance-mods possibilities. The chassis it's built on was the core of the racing truck class before converted buggies took over. Its the oldest design of the three and could use sorting out in a few areas but will perform the best. The build is more engaging and the 4 wheel independent suspension gives it an edge in handling.

I do not fully agree with the statement that the Monster Beetle performs best. Even with some modding it is prone to flip over during sharp cornering especially on grassy surface. The MadBull almost never flips. Also is the MadBull faster than the Monster Beetle using the same motor. Indeed, you have far more possibilities to mod the Monsterbeetle (an now with Pintopowers new mods you can draw from the full). And if you are a Monstertruck fan the Beetle might be the better choice compared to the Madbull that is somewhat a cool buggy with big tires (are we allowed to say Truggy?).

But if you are really a Monstertruck enthusiast you may look for something like the WT-01, WR-01 chassis or even for a TXT-1/2 B)

Is there much in the way for hope up for the DT-01 Chassie??

hop ups for the madbull:

steel pinion

maybe a better motor such as a sport tuned etc.

oil shocks

ball bearings

steering mod:

thats probably it, i did not find any other hop ups

but i guess the madbull doesnt need more since it is almost indestructable in its out of the box form.

the mad bull isn't a monster truck

any kid would pick the beetle

when i drive mine around the park kids swarm!!

my 6 year old loves it when the beetle flips haha!!

i can still get it doing doughnuts

In stock condition, the Madbull is more stable than the Monster Beetle, no doubt. The Monster Beetle's chassis certainly has it's flaws, but there was a LOT of modification work done to these trucks back in the day for monster truck racing. I still feel a fully modded Monster Beetle would be more competitive than a modded Madbull on a track. But this is just my opinion. Technically, I suppose the Monster Beetle is a truggy of sorts too as it has mostly Frog DNA. Now, the WT-01 is likely better than both. It's durable without any extreme glaring flaws and quite stable too with it's wide stance. All of the vehicles listed are great depending on what you are precisely after.
