Klausen 1197 Posted December 23, 2016 Actually my wife is giving me a rere Bigwig for Christmas, but ofcourse it won't be under the tree. Wish it would be, but guess it is not available anywhere in Europe yet 😭

Wandy 1526 Posted December 28, 2016 This is turning into a pretty special re-release with a little bit of magic surrounding it. Love the updated photo of Takuya Yura, it's a really nice touch. Also intrigued to see what the labelled motor looks like.
Snappy1 964 Posted December 28, 2016 A gold label would be nice, similar to the Avante Black........

But I guess they stipulate it would move it in to a price bracket where a lot of people would opt out. Still, it looks mega and I can't wait to get my hands on a couple.
gpgp01 36 Posted December 31, 2016 I've got the one of these. Described some notes, and attached a few pics about re-re. Sub-chassis is there, and full ball bearings. Two steel anttenas were included like original, and pipe style also can be selected. 4 yellow oild dampers are (almost) same as original (not cva2 version). A small hole on each rear damper caps seems noticeable thing. F/R drive shafts & gearbox joints seem same as re-re Hotshot's Designed for old 8.4v long battery, re-re builders can choose to attach some sponge block tapes on each side of battery holder of bathtub chassis if needed. Moon craft logos on wheels. Bright gold unique sticker is attached on GT-tuned motor. Small square hole in front bumper like re-re Boomerang. Official release date in Japan looks like FEB 2017, being hinted to the rear cover of the manual. I hadn't ori-Bigwig at that times, so couldn't tell with full certainty, but overall re-re model's changes and updates seem rather small, as another Tamiya re-re's. Taken pics are below.
Wandy 1526 Posted December 31, 2016 Great photos. The motor label is a nice touch. Owners of original examples will be happy to see stuff like chassis parts stamped with updated numbering too. The box size definitely looks smaller than the original to me.
Klausen 1197 Posted December 31, 2016 That motor looks great. Now get them in stock in Europe 😍😍😍
kontemax 1723 Posted December 31, 2016 The small holes on top of rear dampers existed already in the original dampers. Next rere Super Sabre? Max

mynameisdannyowens 61 Posted January 1, 2017 Sweet lord this is exciting news!!!! I've been occupied all summer with my other hobbies and not done or read anything Tamiya related for a good few months.....BIGWIG!!! Just feel bad that I've not refurbed the old Bigwig basher i bought two years ago (!!) - it has a Technigold and spare brushes and i own a repro body and original, rareas hens teeth, Decals. Kept stalling coz those original decals on a repro body just didn't seem like the right thing to do, hallelujah i can soon buy a proper re-re Tamiya shell to stick those NOS decals on!!!
