Morning all, just looking to touch base with my fellow kiwi members up and down the landscape here, and in particular the hurunui district, hoping all is good with your friends and family, and that your all safe from the possible tsunami.

We had also several heartquakes here in Italy from August, with many people dead and several cities totally destroyed that will be not rebuilded anymore. Cities with more than 2000 years old... :(

For where I live it was just a long rolling shaker, but it was a 7.5, and has currently closed the only ways north by land.

Last I heard on my way to work this morning there were 2 deaths, and multiple injuries.

I was on FB , last night making sure all family & friends were safe etc .

So i hope the Tamiyas are well & safe :D .. to the TC members .

I'm heading over there in Dec for two weeks , if it's still there by then .

It got us out of bed up here. We stood in the hall doorway watching our daughter sleep while it was rolling. (I got told off last time for checking on my RC's while it was happening!) as we had a big one off the east coast here not so long ago, and I said to the missus "That felt as big as the last one, but way longer" I was surprised to find out it was centred in the upper SI after I said that.

I hope everyone down there is alright, and my condolences to the families of the two lost.

I hate to say it, but I think these are only small fry for what is yet to come. :(

Fortunately the earthquake is in the center of Italy, I live in the north west, but many friends in Rome currently have problems.

And yes, big loss. The country didn't deserve this new catastrophy.

No country deserves  devastating earthquakes, but in a country trying to recover financially like yours max, that  really hurts the economy.

Italy is dead.

There's only one way to save Italy: exit the €, exit the EU and replace the political class that is servant of EU.

In 1530 the general Commissar Francesco Ferrucci, wounded, was taken as a war prisoner and killed by his enemy Fabrizio Maramaldo. The last words of the brave soldier were: "You kill a dead man!"

This is what this heartquake is making, it is killing a dead man.
