HC4 Build (This thing is nice!)

So this is a big build. Ladder frame, leaf springs, 3 piece wheels, 2 speed transmission, and a transfer case.

I just thought I would post a thread on this build as I haven't seen any of these on here.

 

I am going to be doing mine all blacked out / Delta Force (Chuck Norris style).

Top leaf spring is metal while the rest are plastic.

The telescoping drive shafts are very heavy duty.

Chassis almost done.

3 piece wheels and started painting them for that black ops looks.

Made quite a bit of progress on the HC4 over the past days.

I will be posting them up over the day.

I got the front bumper painted and put together.

I also started painting the front axle set.

The radio box comes in resin pieces as does the whole rear end of the truck.

This is putting the radio box together.

Had to mount the pieces to frame before gluing the bottom of box on to make sure the holes would line up.

As soon as it stops raining, the box will get painted flat black.

Got another wheel and tire painted, assembled, and installed.

I replaced the stock motor with this HobbyStar 45T rebuild able motor instead.

I got it for $16 and I think it was because they mislabeled them Brushless.......LOL

Works for me!

I have a Low Profile servo coming to replace the transmission gear shift servo that is in it now.

Got the crate put together and started to paint it.

It will house the LiPo battery so it is hidden.

I got the bed of the truck done. It took me two days working on it off and on. (Took my time)

I replaced the Traxxas shifting servo with a Power HD low profile so I only have to cut floor of cab instead of seat as well.

I put he cab on to tease you guys in what it will look like in the end.

I have a working winch on the way and a Famous person to be the driver.

I took a photo of me with it so you could see how big it is.

Got the final wheel and tire on.

Painted the radio box and did a custom antenna holder.

Radio box (Crate) outside is completely done and clear coated.

Lots still to do, but mostly painting and detailing.

Sorry I haven't been working on it a lot lately.

Holidays, changing jobs, and now getting over being very sick has kept me away.

I plan on getting back to the build here real shortly, so stay tuned.
