Taigen M4A3 Sherman 75mm scale project

Recommended Posts

So the wife bought me a Taigen / Imex M4A3 Sherman 75MM tank for Christmas.

It shoots airsoft pellets, has smoke, engine sounds and mostly metal. (Full Function)

I love doing scale builds, and I don't buy too many RTR RC's, but this one is very impressive down to the dirt painted look.

I wanted to take it further. So this is my scale upgrade build of the Taigen Sherman. Enjoy!

I will get pictures up soon!

Look forward to this.

I am currently doing the opposite and modifying a HL Sherman to be a 75mm M4A3 with recoil and elmod sounds.

So the Taigen Sherman comes with an antenna base for some scale looks. I took it a little further by actually making an antenna.

Nothing more annoying than safety LED lights when firing the machine gun and barrel.

So I decided to fill them and paint to make it look more real.

Aren't those holes for the .30cal co ax and gunners sights in the mantlet?!

The holes are suppose to be there.

But I didn't like them lighting up as it took form the machine gun and firing of the barrel.

So I filled them. Maybe I will drill a divot some so it looks like the holes are still there.

Ad Lav pointed out those holes I filled were suppose to be there. I researched it and they were.

But most of the Sherman's I looked at had a lip around the hole.

So back to the drawing board. Drilled a divot in JBWeld, cut plastic pieces and glued them, sanded them down some and repainted.

This is how the actual Sherman is suppose to look.

Nice work. Done mine in white wash.

Do you have a picture for example for me?

So I stripped and repainted the gun barrel and also drilled out the paint that was clogging the exhaust ports on barrel.

Now you can see it really good when firing the gun.

And then I mounted the battle flag on the antenna.

Its the same division that the "Fury" tank was in.
