58645 Subaru WRX STI 24h Nürburgring (TT-02 chassis)

I spotted this in the recently released free Beginner's Guide PDF:

tamiya-sti-evo.jpg

At first I thought it was a new WRX, but looking closer it appears to be the Evo X shell (note the moulded in number plate and large door mirrors) with Subaru stickers. The livery matches the 24h car listed above though.

Cool! I have one, but it's good to know that there are more of them on their way. They were getting a bit thin on the ground. Now I hope that they also re-re the Wrangler, gives people a couple of more options for body sets. :)

A lot I find interesting here.  Have had two Pajeros and regretted selling them both.  Would love to see the black Grasshopper again but the green was cool and I missed that too.  Glad to see the xv01 with another (re)release.  Everything I have read on that chassis makes it sound phenomenal so glad to see continued support.

Matte High Lift parts should be a cheap upgrade. Just glad to see something new for those trucks.

Wonder what the upgraded steering for the TT02 looks like.  I always hated that the aluminum steering comes up to like half the price of a kit on those cars.

That's great news about the pajero, with any luck that means that I can nab a shell for my cc-01.

A candy green grasshopper sounds like a good addition to my collection as well.

Good to see the Pajero making a come back. Although just before I saw this post I bought a Bronco shell for my CC-01 (which I will sell afterwards anyway).

White wheels for the tractor trucks is ok would be great for custom euro scanias and the like. But they need to offer the wide (super single) bearing wheels in chrome as a separate upgrade for the fronts. Right now you need to either swap all your wheels to the Matte finish and buy the matte ones, or try to find the reefer rears, or Merc gigaspace fronts.

All the other chrome wheels are available to purchase as a pair...

I missed my chance to buy one on its first release so I was wondering... Was the Candy Green Grasshopper molded in green of just painted?

Im scratching my head here with the green grasshopper

It's been on Tamico for as long as I can remember Tamiya Grasshopper Bausatz Candy Grün #84331 yet listed on Tamiya USA as discontinued.

Have I missed something?

Item number 84331 is the original release of the candy green version, released in 2012.

Item number 47348 is the 2017 re-release of 84331.

Ok, so if I read that right, Tamiya are re-releasing something you can still buy? 84331 is the original? it's still available for 99 euros on Tamico.

Not really. 84331 was a limited release 5 years ago, and it was sold out in Japan a long time ago. That a shop (or several shops) in the export market still has it as old stock doesn't mean that it's available from Tamiya, thus the re-release with a new item number now in 2017.

I hope it is that version though there was an older one which wasn't quite as striking.

A fair few decals on that. Hoping that @Truck Norris gets his hands one one...

47349 XV-01 Chassis Kit Long Damper Spec

I was quietly hoping for a '93 Celica XV01, but this is interesting.  Should be cheap enough to order from overseas and avoid customs charges too.  I was going to do a tarmac rally car but it'd be a waste to not take advantage of the long damper spec,  I think it might be time to order a body shell for an autumn XV01 gravel rally project.

I'm not sure how I feel about re-re-releases.

It undermines the initial launch on the one hand (and values) but on the other hand, good that people can still get them if there's demand. No different to the Re-re's then lol :)

I always fancied a metal top Pajero so that may find it's way into my fleet :)

I'm underwhelmed by the release list for Nuremberg.

The new releases are too goofy for my taste. At this point I need an epic car like the 959, otherwise my wallet will remain shut.
