I bought this used rolling chassis for £70.00 planning to get it running, what sold it for me was the nice shell and wing..... unfortunately the wing disentegrated when I opened the box and moved it an inch, and the shell has been hot guled repaired on the nose and will not last too much longer either (Although it looks nice still and might be able to be repaired by someone)

Then the rear hub snapped as I undid the screw, it was ready to snap, another thing the seller ommited to tell me.

To say I was royally ripped off was an understatement, but I had already left the seller good feedback when the box arrived without checking the contents closely... my fault.

However my attempts to get this running have proved ill fated and I cannot get rid of what I think is a faulty rear diff despite it being sold as running smoothly... it was not!

I have since bought a new rear diff and rear gear case which is fitted to the car but the clicking persist. I might be overlooking something simpe but it is sold as faulty.

So it's up for sale, rolling chassis, no electrics included. No motor mount included. The tyres need gluing on the rims, I've added the aftermarket rear wing, Added Absima Oil Dampers to the rear, one part to replace is that broken rear hub but the dog bone is included.

Yellow Oil dampers up front,  new rear gear case, new rear top diff cover, new rear diff cover.

Letting it go to a better home hopefully, if someone buys it please tell me what was wrong with it!

Asking £45.00 Paypal gift inc postage in the UK

The car looks FAB and nice flooring BTW.

Could the clicking be the prop shaft? They are flimsy and of poor design. If even slightly bent, there will play and hence a clicking sound. If you haven't done so already, take this out and try running it without.

Good Luck.

Lol thanks for the floor biggup.... so taking the prop shaft out would run it I rear wheel drive only to see if the rear box has an issue not connected  to the prop or the front diff right?

The most thorough way would be to remove all gears from the car. Add the motor, check its spins ok. Add the spur, check again, add the diff and outdrive, then the driveshafts.

Then add the prop, then the front gears etc etc.

Hi There.

Yes indeed, I was just thinking of a quick way of eliminating the prop shaft being the cause, as it is a common one. If it is, I have some bits lying around, and can send you my spare prop shaft.

If not and the clicking persists, Butler's suggestion is far more thorough.

Good luck!

Hold fire gents... I know you are all queuing up to relieve me of this MR in exchange for serious coinage... obvious from the offers I've had ( none).

Thanks for the great tips guys, Butler that sounds the best way to check the motor pinion spur connection... duh should've thought of that before... Sansoora very generous too but not needed thanks, Waterbok that would very tedious for the viewers and lyrically explicit as I rant away ;).

Will try all these methods soon to eliminate parts one by one, sorry this sale thread is turning into a trouble shooting topic... so no more help here pls I feel like I'm messing up TC rules or something.

Edit : Fixed it! Had not loctited the mount legs and the alloy motor mount causing bad mesh on pinion and spur! Keeping this MR now :)
