I am having a hard time finding parts in the USA for the WT-01 (Bush Devil 2 specifically).  I thought I was adept with Google but maybe I don't know what I'm looking for.  I tried typing in other trucks that use the same chassis and had a bit more success.  The first thing I was looking for was the shock towers.  I could find them on ebay in blue, but I wanted to avoid ebay if possible and i wanted anything except blue.  Black, Red, Siver.  Are there hobby shops that sell hop up Tamiya parts in the USA or is everything from Japan?

any good with a file and hacksaw you can DIY shocktowers from 3mm alloy plate.

Many parts can be found searching for Wild Dagger tuning, if you go looking for steering knuckles, c-hubs and such those are the same as on the TL01, WT01 or WR01

Think so, if not I can draw one up from the original.

edit found a nice picture, you can figure out the measurement if you size up the chassis holes.

The WT-01 Bush Devil 2 is all assembled.  It is 100% stock built with the exception of the BEC I added today since Tamiya puts their base line ESC in new kits and I didn't want to fry the electronics.   I want to seriously upgrade it.  Its very quick stock but I was wondering if anyone had thoughts as the best bang for the buck parts to get.

The first thing seems to be the shock towers so I am looking at http://www.ebay.com/itm/381936021750

With these shocks http://www.ebay.com/itm/172479921247  I am not 100% sure on these shocks but they seemed to be a good deal.  Does anyone have thoughts if its worth buying better grade?

I want to get both pinion gears so a .6 18 tooth is installed so I will pick up the 20 tooth steel gear which is the higher top end pinion?

I was looking over @Jason1145 post about his amazing Mud Blaster and maybe he can shed some light on some questions.  I liked the brushless motor/ESC combo he used and it seems reasonable http://www.ebay.com/itm/141691151905 but I was wondering if there was something that was a better combo or wished you could have done different on the build.  I have a flexible budget and I want this truck to be fast.  I also need street tires.  Those stock spiked tires are going to be toast after a few more runs on the pavement.  I searched for the tires you used said to look for Perfect 4Pcs Black Wheel Rim + Tire for 1/10 HSP 94111 94188 Monster Truck  and found this link  http://www.ebay.com/itm/4Pcs-Black-Wheel-Rim-and-Tire-for-1-10-HSP-94111-94188-Monster-Truck-B1X1-/142013195431?hash=item2110a564a7:g:IjYAAOSwmtJXT-kv but it also generate dozens of other tires with the same description followed by a random code B1X1, G6Z8, M3R2 and so on.  I wonder if those are sizes or just some number code for the sellers ebay auctions.  I was at the hobby shop today looking and they showed a couple tires but noted that the steering joints may interfere with several aftermarket tires.

Last item will be upgrading to LiPo and put this NiMH back in the Big Bear.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Venom-20C-2S-4000mAh-RC-7-4V-LiPo-Battery-Tamiya-Deans-EC3-Traxxas-ROAR-Pack-/311370874962?hash=item487f268052:g:YAEAAOSwo4pYjVRA was the first one that came to mind but I still need to do more research on LiPO to understand what the numbers mean.

Quick edit - I need to clean up the wiring and mount the ESC and receiver but the only thing I have on me is permanent double sided tape and I want to change some parts soon.

IMO shock towers are a must. I would not run the cheap shocks though, I have similar sets and they take a rebuild and lots of spring swapping to get them to work. Stick with branded 85-95mm ones.

For street running you will not want to raise the ride height much but the towers and shocks allow a lot more sag so the ride is very smooth and you get less rolling over.

Motors are always a thing of personal choice but try and pick a ESC that can cope with something well beyond what you would consider running now, that way only motor upgrades needed in future.

I find mine on a 10.5t is a nice runner.

Those tyres you linked are the ones I got but I just measured mine and they are 125mm tall and 65mm wide, think they list shorter than that.

Honestly those tyres slide a lot so not best for street running,  I'd look for some proper tarmac tyres instead.

I am about to try some cheap alloy shocks that just arrived as my Absima ones are not working well, can't get them to dampen at all at present they are just like lead weights with no give or rebound despite following advice here on rebuilding them, I must've got a dud set because I have a shorter set on my Manta Ray that work perfect so it's not the brand.

I just dropped a bit of $$ this weekend on orders and one item was the shock tower by RCDamper.  Anyone with experience know if it comes with everything ready to bolt on? Anything else I need to have ready when they come.  It lists the estimated ship date as March 4th from Hong Kong 😱  hopefully it won't take that long

Comes with everything you need to bolt on towers to the chassis.  As far as shocks/dampers... I think the screws for those came with my dampers.  I don't quite remember to be honest.

If you plan on replacing the plastic upper arms, i bolted the shocktowers on like this.

JAruEpI1BZ4qna2AYmjkYqpHI3WvA3_8WyKaovPc

Lower hole I used a 3x14mm stepscrew, washer, ballnut. You have the widen the hole to 3mm

Middle, tapper the plastic with M3 then M3x20 and a M3 flange nut

Top depending on damper used, M3 screw, ballcollar and a M3 lock nut

Bombproof sofar.

@waterbokyou are awesome for showing that detail. Thank you. I was looking at my truck wondering if there is any issue with the body mount posts interfering with the rear shock tower.

The rear posts touch the tower but it fits, my picture shows the front

Man wish I had known you needed shock towers I have a nib set I coulda sold you. Also on my Blackfoot Xtreme build thread someone was kind enough to give a link on where to score the black shock towers too. I'd post them but on my phone and too tired ATM to figure out how to link stuff...... :)

Are the ones you want to sell black or blue? I may be interested either way. How much for them shipped to Missouri?

The bolt that holds the servo onto the body ripped out of the body. Suggestions to fix it?  Im thinking longer bolt with a fender washer on the outside of the body

edit.. I just remembered that this is a mirror chassis so I just turned everything around

So i reassembled the chassis and while I had it apart, I replaced all the nylon bushing and brass spacers in the gearbox with greased metal bearings.  I put rubber sealed bushing on both sides of the drive wheels and front wheels.  I got my Venom lipo 2s 4000 mah battery fully charged and added a 60 amp brushless ESC and a 3100kv 3650 series brushless motor and used the 18t pinion to compensate for the larger tires.  Put on 135mm tarmac tires that just BARELY fit and hit the switch.  Silly thing sounded like an airplane and it wasn't even moving yet.  Mounted a 5 bulb LED light bar and took it for a quick spin in the dark.  Half throttle was about as fast as stock, full throttle......whoa.  This is going to be fun when I get the shock towers in.  Two trips down a dark street and I quickly realized this is a daytime truck if I intend to drive it on the street.  Around the grass, its ridiculously fast.

Yeah those are some decent looking tyres... pretty wide.... how's the servo with moving them around?

Yes wheel wideners will give you more stability and just look more impressive bolting towards you ;p
