Hi I think these on the rears of my hoppers would make them run a lot better anyone know a way to be able to use the scorpion rears tires and wheels on a tamiya grasshopper?

Thanks

It is possible. I've tried it. You have to carefully enlarge the holes on the Kyosho Scorpion hubs and rear wheels to fit over the larger diameter Hornet/Grasshopper axles. The easier option, however, is to fit the rear Scorpion tires on a set of Hornet rear 3 piece 1.5 wheels. I think they fit. I'll try when I get home tonight. I know I've gotten the rear Scorpion tires to fit on the 1.7 FAV/Buggy Champ rear wheels.

You're correct, they do stick out a very little bit, but it wasn't enough to bother me. Like I said, if you're willing to drill out the holes on the Kyosho hubs and wheels, the combo should work (I think). It has been a while since I tried.

I will have to try something...  did you use the stock hornet back hub that the stock wheels sit up against?

Thanks

For the Kyosho wheels and tires, I used the Kyosho "pressure" hub or whatever it's called that grabs the wheel. For the Tamiya wheel and Kyosho tire combo, I used the standard Tamiya Hornet/Grasshopper rear hub.

I drilled out scorpion wheels and they go right on with the stock tamiya back wheel hubs but nothing to stop them from slipping on it ... I contacted ampro and showed him what to do and asked if he will make the adaptors so we can use scorpion rear wheels on with the better scorpion tires.. but for now i put a small bead of goop glue on the back of the scorpion wheel around the plastic on the rear where the hole goes through so that when you bolt it down it will stick the tamiya hub to the back of the wheel and hopefully stop it from slipping.

will PM you the video.

So I just picked up a set of alloy wheels to run on my Hornet. They look great and fit well but certainly aren't as well fitted S the three piece plastic Tamiya wheels.

I've not run them yet but they sure do look like the could certainly slip.

Any suggestions on how to get a better seal on these one piece alloy rims?

Shoe Goo? Super Glue? Some type of sealant?

I have another set on order for the FAV/Brat tires and I bet I'll have the same issue.

Suggestions?

Lovely looking wheels. Where did you get them from?

Try some silicone sealant, the sirt of stuff you use to seal gaps in bathrooms. It comes in clear, grips the tires and metal well but is still soft enough to remove when you need to out on new rubber.

Hi I would put a few dabs of goop glue on the tires and it should work.

Any good Ampro parts worth Recommending?

Great wheels btw, I know what a pain it is to get new tyres on the Hornet 3 piece wheels :).

They are all well designed with good tutorials on youtube. I have the Hornet battery door and transmission brace which stops slop in the rear end under acceleration and also has pins to hold the battery door on: https://www.shapeways.com/product/6DQDLLW24/ampro-battery-door-hornet?optionId=59733651

and: https://www.shapeways.com/product/KU6R78L27/battery-tray-retainer-for-hornet-with-no-tab-trans?optionId=59110649

I would certainly buy more, but they are quite expensive. I got them on a shape ways sale which they give you after a week or so of joining (or they did for me)
