The idea behind this thread is to post up what your favorite Tamiya is at the moment. It could be a favorite runner or shelfer. It could even be one you don't own yet but can't wait to get you hands on. Since opinions change, you can post multiple times as you may find enjoyment in other models. Whether this thread gets legs or withers on the vine, who knows? At the moment I'm digging my Super Shot. I really have gained an appreciation for old Tamiya 4wd buggies in the last 10 years or so. While the Hot Shot is iconic, overall, I'm having a blast running my Super Shot. There's just something so cool about Tamiya throwing every hop-up they had at this platform and combining it with one of their most aggressive appearances. Four big, imposing, yellow shocks, silver bodywork, gold wheels with mean-looking pin spike tires add up to one tough looking buggy in my opinion.

By far the best monster truck Tamiya have ever made. Scale realistic to Bigfoot 18, can run on dual or single brushless, handles well, jumps well and endless mod options including bigger tyres/wheels.

At the Moment. That's a tough on to pick.

I can honestly say that i'm having more fun with my Tumbling bull right now than anything else. Not uncommon to run it around almost daily if I get home before the sun goes down.

Right now, it's a tie between the DT-02 Kumamon Sand Rover and the MF-01X Suzuki Jimny, although I haven't finished with the build on that one yet. Both great cars to tinker with, and cheap enough to not worry about messing stuff up.

The one that has really captured my imagination as far as future purchases go is that new 6x6. Gotta get my hands on one of those. So many things I want to try.

I prefer to run my tractor trucks if possible, but with zero time for the hobby at the moment it takes too long to get them out of the spare room and set them up.

It is quicker for me to grab the lunchbox or the dump truck out of the garage as the batteries are already in them and have enough charge to give me 5 mins of breathing space before my little girl and wife get home and its time for me to do housework and make dinner.

It will be even less time in two weeks as my second child is due and they will all be @ home.

I only have two, and they couldn't be more different - the relaxed, go-anywhere, totally non-competitive and rather unrealistic Mad Bull, and the stiff, precise F103 that can't run on anything other than smooth, flat surfaces, is used purely for racing and looks very realistic while doing so.

Both are great at what they do, but of the two I think I prefer the F103, not because I consider it a superior vehicle, but rather because the excitement and friendly competition (and of course warmth) of an indoor race meet currently appeals more to me than the rather lonely and cold activity of bashing in the park on my own.

Although I enjoy building/upgrading, I build to run, so while enjoying building up my Hornet to a nice standard  I have to say my FAV is my My FAV, it's an awesome runner so composed through the twists and turns = and fun fun fun to run run run.

3 weeks ago my DT-02 was the top choice!

Love my Metallic Pink Neo Scorcher. Its almost MS Spec. Just missing the adjustable turnbuckles. But it is running Tamiya Big Bore Alloy shocks. It is a runner but spends most time on the shelf.

My absolute favorite tamiya of all time is my TB01 rally car. Ive had it since 2000 and spent an untold amount of it changing stuff,  bashing it,  breaking it,  fixing it. And pimping it to the extreme.

Hard to say honestly because my vintage Wild One holds such sentimental value. If I got rid of all of my cars tomorrow (just a measely 13), I'd keep it and my NASCAR Pumpkin.

My favourite for as long as it's been out (original and re-re) is the avante!, Now i know the problem's it has with the racing fraternity back in the days of its original release but I'm just going on pure looks and the odd bash around the garden!, it looks as though it could wipe the floor with anything that was parked next to it on the grid. Back on its original release I could never afford to own one so the re-re was a god send...... BUT the sand scorcher is up their and i absolutely love that but the reason it's not top dog and takes second fiddle is because it's such an iconic RC and it should be an unwritten rule Evey body who collects Tamiya should have to have a sand scorcher in there collection:D!

Hands down,The Bullhead.

Few reasons,

1: Always loved the double motor on the clodbuster,(although not a clod, it's close enough!)

2: It's MASSIVE with big enough wheels to run on a soaking wet, uncut Scottish garden in March.

3: The main reason,My daughter loves it, loves driving it, and when not driving it, runs after it, with a hearty laugh that only a child can do. 😊

Just need to sort the steering out, oh and maybe a new esc, maybe bearings........

My monster beetle, reminiscing of mine as a kid. Never realized how clunky they were as a kid or i didnt know any better. I always thought it was the most fun car i had

My current focus is my Grasshopper2 bodied DT-03. It's the first car I've painted not to tamiya spec colours and customised a bit. Love it.

I will never tire of my Thunder Dragon though. Still have my original 1988 runner, now with all the hop ups I couldn't afford when I was 12!

This is a tough question. It should be my sons TT02B Plasma Edge as that got me the green light to buy more...but hisnis stock and mine has 13.5T brushless setup which is faster than it can handle, and faster is always more fun right?

But I also have the Fox and Boomerang which just look so cool.

Really it has to be the new cars though, they handle better, also handle the abuse and are so cheap and easy to fix if I do manage to break them (i have just jinxed the, now haven't I?)

Right now, my MAN TGX 6x4.  I've lost the love for touring car racing (again) and nobody around this way does indoor buggy racing, I haven't had the spare time to go crawling with the local club, so the winter season has been a real quiet one.  The only constant is there are two good RC trucking clubs near me and they each run every month - so if I don't make it to anything else, at least I get one day a month to go drive my lorry around the layout.

It's also my main focus of attention for modding - I'm working hard almost every lunchbreak to get my race trailer built, as well as building a generator cabinet for the chassis to hide the MFC in, so I can properly decorate the cab interior.  Having lots of fun with this truck, although I might not get to run it much as the summer season starts and the outdoor races get going again.

At the end of March I'll have to start prepping my cars for the Iconic Revival.  I've got two SRBs to modify and a Manta Ray to fully rebuild, plus a bunch of shells to paint.  There's an Iconic bash at the end of April and it would be nice to get my Revival cars ready so I can test them on astro before the main event.

I'm not sure really. I've only 3 and 2/3 are problems. Neoscorcher needs a rebuild and new parts (problems with running brushless and crashing). Clodbuster project is in build but it snorts up money like it's going out of fashion.

The lunchbox is pretty innocent so far. It is the only one of the 3 stock to be fair.. Just need to paint the lid
