Super Blackfoot Rear shock issues

Recommended Posts

I have a super blackfoot I've rebuilt with a new frog chassis and put a beetle body on it. It's meant to be a basher but the rear shock screws keep coming out of their holes. Is there a fix for this? Are there any aluminum parts for this?

I used a pair of M3 screws I had in my toolbox.  Likely 12mm or longer.  I didn't like how short the original screws were and wanted there to be more metal supporting the shock and the rear a-arm.  I also added an oversized washer to protect the bottom of the shock.

I did some tweaking on my rear shocks tonight.  Added some 3mm damper o-rings around the upper contact points to give it a little bit more flex in its movement...  Also added some "stroke-stops" so that I didn't bottom out anymore...

While I was in there I measured the M3 hex-bolt I'm using to secure the bottom on the shock to the rear arm...  30mm...  yes, its quite longer than I thought in my original post - my fault for being unfamiliar with metric units...

Thanks Terry. I just put in the 30mm screws so we will see if that helps. I really wish someone would start making aluminum hop up parts for the SBF and KBF. They are great trucks but have their week spots...
