Seeing how the longest running kits has had so much attention,I'm wondering about the longest running parts? I know the Pumpkin which is still avail uses a grasshopper A tree for the front suspension a-arms and various other items. There never has been a lunchbox/pumpkin a parts. They are all stamped grasshopper. So those date back to May 1984,and still going strong. Just wishing some of those other parts from 84 were still available.[8D]

found 1 in my hoover when it exploded [8D]

it was used to drive the brushes around!

dam thing was less than a year old aswell [V][:o)]

maybe standard tamiya 7.2v battery connectors have a chance of being the longest running parts[?]

I could say wheel nuts.....But i won't [:o)] As a (slightly ) more serious guess I say those nasty wiper type MSCs that come as standard in kits and have not changed since they invented the wheels themselves. If you don't have at least 1 lying about unused chances are you collect stamps.

Scorchio.I wouldn't have thought of the speed controllers but you are correct. They haven't changed at all over the years with the exception of the base color. Early black/later orange. Interesting observation. I guess its probably because if a guy builds anything to drive-thats the first item to get replaced, that and the the stock motor. I'm wondering after all these years on continuous production, what a speedie actually costs tamiya? Must be just pennies!!![8D]

hum just had a thought,

clod buster D parts have been around for a while now, never out of use either [:P]

they are the 4 steering knuckle parts,

used in the clod, then the bullhead, the the jugg1, followed by the jugg2, then the mammoth dump truck, txt-1 and now the super cold[8D]

thats quite a list lol, maybe the clod D tree is the most shared component from 1 car? not like msc's, bolts and antenna rods which come with everything [;)]

If you look in the current RC guide book under the spares section, the oldest is the Double sided servo tape set (50025), Followed by the Tool Set (50038) which includes our friend, the box wrench [8D]. Next is the Ball link and Adjuster Rod set (50068) followed by the 7.2V connector set (50106)[^].

I just bought a steel antenna (50195) for my Boomerang, still has the same part number as it used to but made recently - so that's at least 18 years!

I believe the Hornet speed controller (50253) is still made today and is used it lots of models, though as Mervyn said they are orange now instead of black.

These parts have been around for ages...

#50195 - Steel antenna set

#50204 - Directly Connected Servo Saver Set

#50135 - Bumper for Audi Quattro, Hornet, Frog etc. Still has the 'RCC Quattro' lettering moulded into it.

#9805060 - Bevel gear bag (Frog, Monster Beetle, Hotshot etc.)

Yes, brought back to stock with the old 50xxx number, guess due to the Voltec Figher and brothers and due to the nitro starters.

I didn't know wheter to laugh or cry when I realised my TNX uses just as a starter motor what used to move my first Tamiya, my Holiday Buggy... [8)]

Cheers
