Yeah, you can tell straight away if sellers aren't familiar with the history/collectability of these kits - their description of it is usually a giveaway.

Things like "i think this one's called a Frog" or "i think these were popular back in the 80's".

Now I'm certainly not knocking them - after all, they provide the occasional real bargain for us folk with a 'little more insight'. [;)]

I saw that, the amusing thing is there's one listed in the shops section for $300 or $350 [:D].

For deal of the year check out Rammers £65 NIB Countach [xx(]

Hi Everyone,

I know this is a bit off topic but recently I got a NIB Hornet of ebay[:P](not the $100 one I must add) and am really surprised of the quality of the parts even after 20yrs. I had to have one 'cause it was the first Tamiya I owned and I foolishly sold it a long time ago.

One question I do have is, is it normal for the Lexan bodies to get a slight tea colour in the aging process?

Do I build it or not? Mmmmmmmmmmm.............

Oooh that sounds like a hint at a re-release to me [:P] [8D]

I wish they would re-release the Egress or Avante [V]

I would be very surprised if things like SRB's and 3-speeds were ever re-released. The cost of making the parts used, i.e. all the metal bits would make it too expensive today. I and I bet a lot of other people hope not as the values of our expensive originals would take a hammering !! If they do I hope they make them slightly different to identify them as such.

Is the Hornet really being re-released? I have seen nothing about it on any of the Tamiya sites and no UK model shops seem to know anything about it. Is it just a Japan/US only thing?

I for one would love to see the Lunchbox re-released as well. Imagine that, Tamiyas 2 best ever cars available brand new!! [:D]

Anyone have any idea if we are going to see more of the old buggies re-released? Perhaps it's wishful thinking but it would be great to see a re-released fox or hotshot.

Guess we can expect to see lots of 'collectors' dumping Hornet runners and projects, and also SS tire and wheel sets on ebay over the next month to try and salvage some of their 'investment' before the bottom falls out that particular market.[;)]

This month...

Sand scorcher New front and rear tire and wheel set = $100.00

New Hornet body and decals $60.00

Next month...

My guess is a lot less...[;)]

Ok, Im a bit slow here: doesn't the SS use "Semi pneumatic rubber sand tire" in the rear?

The uses spikes in the rear, so why the sudden drop in prices?

(In case you where wondering, yes, Ill also get a Hornet. Good job Tamiya!)
