Way before TamTech, Kyosho mini Optima, MiniZ, HPI Micro RS4 or Tomy Bit-Char-G - like decade or 2 before... ppl were already trying to make tiny RC cars. We're talking mid to late 1970s.

1/24 was a popular scale for both static modelling (lots of ABS hard bodies to motorise) and slot cars (they already had lexan lightweight bodies).

Naturally one huge limitation was size of RC gear then, miniaturisation was still in its infancy and it wasn't easy to squash everything down to fit into the volume of a 1/24 shell.

Parma, a big player in slotcars, made the Bobcat 1/24

(they also did a slightly larger Cheetah 1/18th)

And across the Pacific, ABC Hobby did the Royal Sports

which was supposedly designed by Masaaki Hirosaka, father of Masami.

Anybody else have interest in these tiny wonders?
