My first Tamiya was a Mudblaster. I have since sold it and was playing with gas cars (tmaxx). They are alot of fun, but look like toys. Plus, you can't play in the house. Well, I was searching around evilbay and saw the juggernaut. IMO, it looks great, and that is what draws me to the tamiya cars. I searched for a new one and were none to be found, but I did find a complete body so I bought it. I then ordered a Super Clod to mount it on. After the Clod was done, the Jugg body had a longer wheelbase and was two piece so I was not too happy with the possible fittment (plus the clod body looked good). So I began searching again for a jugg (actually was going to try a txt-1) but found a new jugg instead. After, I started thinking about my favorite, the Blackfoot and found a used one for parts. That coupled with a new body kit, I got a Blackfoot. Then (yes, there is more) I found a NIB Mudblaster, as I stated earlier was my first and i wanted it back, so I bought that too. And finally (last one I promise) I found a nice used Super Blackfoot so I bought that too. I really think I over did it in this past month. I really want to get one of all the Blackfoots and a monster Beetle as well. I am not doing this for value reasons, I just like em. Anyone else done the same or am I an idiot?

Yes and No, you're just an average Tamiya addict idiot like hundreds of others around here! [:o)] Welcome and feel free to buy/sell/trade multiple cars per day if you like [:P] Good to know I'm not alone....

Welcome to the club. You sound like me and everybody else on here.[:)]

I got into it just like you. I've got a super nice collection of factory sealed kits. SEALED CITY! Problem now is the Bay has so many of my " WANTS " listed and money is running low. Thing is I'm trying to do this collecting without getting in debt with CC's. Some of the auctions are rated " VERY HIGH " on the want list so I might just have to get out the CC and join the Tamiya "DEBT" club.[8D]

And of course now I'm looking for a Nib Lunch Box. So yes, were all crazy.

Well I can agree with at least Im nutz . I dont know anyone els yet ( Im new to the site too ) so I cant say one way or the other about them .....yet [:D] lol .... Anyways , I look at it like this . As far as what you spend on your hobby , money shouldnt be an issue if you are satisfied with what you bought . Well , as long as your still paying all your other bills on time at least . If you fixate on what you have spent or are looking to spend in the future , you will basically end up geting out of the hobby because the "price tag" can get scarry most of the time looking from a practical standpoint . As long as your happy with what you are getting and your money situation allows for you to afford it , you should never look at a personal hobby from a "money invested" stand point or it will start to kill the fun of why you love the hobby to begin with . Oh well , just my own personal out look on the subject ...[:)]

You just keep buying, and buying ... When I first found this website, I was amazed you could still get your hands on a Tamiya Sand Scorcher NIB. I had to get myself one of these, and I now have one mint built, and one NIB. I also 'just had to get' a Cheetah. These were the two model's I remember play with when I was a teenager. I then read about the 3-sp models and found them very interesting (never knew about them before), so I just had to get myself one of those, along with a FAV and a few others. I've now spent over $10,000 but don't really care about the money. I get so much joy and fun when playing with this old momdels in the house. I have a 58001 & 58005 (NIB) and am thinking of keeping these and still try and buy some new-builts of these models, just so I can play with them in the house (without having to build the NIB I already have) Is this crazy or what ??? [:o)]

I've spent quite a bit since I started collecting a couple of months ago. Ebay is evil, espcially with those Buy it Now buttons sending temptation my way! I've just gone and bought a NIB Egress with a load of parts thrown in. 400 big ones [:(]. It is a mint kit though!
