Hi All,

I'm new to this site. I just thought I'd post a remarkable find. In 1978, I saved all my money  to buy the Tyrrell P34 RC 6 wheel F1 kit. It was the coolest thing I ever saw,

and when I finally got to drive it with my dad, I had the biggest smile for weeks!!!! I was an army brat stationed in Germany at the time. Well, as all army brats know, traveling is

a constant thing. Moving around every few years, well it got lost along the way with many other things I valued.  I was upset for a long time after, mostly, because it was a project that

me and my dad did together. When I got back to the states, I told myself I'd buy another one someday. well, that never seemed to happened, eventually, After I got married , and had kids of my own, and all that, never really thought about it much again. a few months ago, I was helping my father clean up his house to get ready to sell. As I opened one of the stored boxes in his basement, boom! there it was! 39 years later!!!  I don't think I've ever been that shocked to find something before. Sooooo, I'm going to rebuild it, get it running, and give it to my son. Unfortunately it's missing a few parts, so hopefully I can find some here:)

GREAT STORY!!

I don't know if you are aware the legendary Tamiya Tyrell was re-released some years ago. With that in mind, why don't you rebuild your original car and get a new kit to build with your son? If you do that, you will also be able to run two of those legendary 6-wheelers! ;)

Here's some information:

I hope you will share some pictures of your car.

Have a good Sunday! :)

Or, restore that lovely original with original parts ;) To preserve it's ancientness. And get a remake for running around.  (I am amazed Tamiya are doing another remake of that Tyrrell kit yet again. The company appears truly out of ideas at times)

Here is the database entry for the original: https://www.tamiyaclub.com/car.asp?cid=3

And a rare body set which is up for bidding: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-Tamiya-1-10-Tyrrell-P34-Six-Wheeler-Body-Parts-Set-50051-For-your-58003-/122498307519?hash=item1c8577d5bf:g:o88AAOSwrhBZD3Wo

I just picked up a vintage body set for an ancient Ralt RT2 Hart. Though I am missing one small piece for it... Is anyone here a Ralt RT2 Hart specialist? :D

For all those who intend to buy 47359 for restoring original Tyrrells, keep in mind that the first issue of RC Tyrrell 58003 is a 77 model while the 47359 is a 76 model which is totally different body design. As an example, the 76 Shows an open Motor while the 77 is completely covered for aerodynamic purposes. So, the 47359 is more a re-re of the 84111 than another rere of the 58003. also chassiswise, the 47359 has not many parts shared from the original 58003 ;-)
