Hi folks.

This morning my new ebay-purchased Super Blackfoot was delivered by the postman. I am really happy because I wanted to have this model for a long time (the most similar car that I have is a Monster Beetle, Midnight Pumpkin and a Toyota Monster Racer).

In my eyes the condition is very good. The spikes on the tires are not worn out. The body has only a few scratches an wasn't even painted.

First I did was correct some mistakes the original owner made when he built the truck (shock mount position was wrong and so on).

Now I did the usual stuff. I dismanteld the car an re-built it "the right" way (new grease for the gearbox etc).

Problem:

The original shocks are really terrible. Even my Midnight Pumpkin with cva oil shocks has a better handling.

Can you recommend me some sort of shocks besides the CVA Tamiya shocks (maybe in Germany)?

I have seen a Super Black Foot with "EGREES" titanium or graphite (?)shocks. These shocks are superb but really way to expansive for my budget.

Thank you [:P]

look for some Carson shocks. They are from germany, thery are cheap and if you replace the black O-rings for orange ones they don't leak!

Greatz,

Can you tell me which Carson Shocks I should look for (length or parts number)?

Yesterday I put in the Mabuchí rx540vz (Technigold).

I liked the performance but I am not sure if it is the right motor for Super Blackfoot?

Which do you use for your Super Blackfoot?[?]

Are these shocks the right length? And would they fit a King Blackfoot as well? And what are they made off? [:D] Pics? [8D]

I am looking for some good shocks for the King Blackfoot for a while as the origional friction ones are 'disappointingly bad'... [;)]

Sjoerd, these shocks are available in lots of different sizes: from 5mm - 12mm I thought maybe even longer. Take a look at the conrad website by "modelbouw" www.conrad.nl they are made from alloy and will leak very soon after you've used them, so change those o-rings as soon as you have the shocks!! [;)]

He DerAlex,

if you have the super blackfoot #58110 here is a link to the hopupparts file of this car.

It says u can use #50520 CVA short shock set (need two sets) or the #53037 HighCap damper short (need two sets).

http://www.tamiyausa.com/pdf/58110.pdf

If u want to know which length shocks u need measure them from top to bottom when fuly extended (Top eyelett to bottom eyelett) and look for the partnumber in the following link.

http://www.antics.ltd.uk/acatalog/Main_Ind...__Oils_107.html

If i'am not mistaken the partnumbers on the page are actual Carson partnumbers!

Good luck,

-Whacky.

Today I went to the "Intermodellbau" in Dortmund (biggest german fair for RC cars, boats, planes and so on).

And .... I got 2 Kits of #53037 -> Hi-Cap Dampers [:D][:D]I am so happy. I like them much more than the carson ones [:P]
