Optima tire smell

Its been well documented that the re-release Optima's tires smell rather...potent. Has anybody found a way to reduce this smell? I love Tamiya tire smell but really don't want this Kyosho tire smell overtaking my hobby room. I've soaked them in dish soap and water for a week and the smell came back as soon as they dried off. The smell came back the very next day, the smell came back and it wouldn't go away.

Mine has been in its box since I bought it when it came out. I don't notice any smell anymore, so it must be fading out.

I opened the box of mine again recently to check on the smell and, yeah, as Klausen says above, the smell does subside. The stench of them straight out of the factory must be something to behold though.

The smell when I built mine was strong (not nasty or horrible IMO) but by time I'd finished the build it had gone I think by just having them out in the open kills the smell pretty quickly!
