So I was watching car sos and they sent a car to be striped.

Know in this case they used baking soda as it's not very abrasive and don't cause heat to distort the panel's.

I wonder if this would work on the hard body shells instead of paint striped or brake fluid and if so would it work through a air gun compressor

You can get different grades of grit, like different grades of sand paper, but, it would take a few destroyed bodies to get the pressure settings right. I blasted my bumper brackets, and just caught the inside of the bumper itself, almost went through it!

Even soda blasting is pretty abrasive. OK on metals but I would strongly recommend not using it on styrene.

You need lots of air. Lots. An airbrush compressor certainly wouldn't cut it - you want ideally a few horsepower motor and a decent sized tank. 20+ CFM would be great, otherwise expect a lot of stop/starting.

I built my own set up and struggled with CFM, mainly not enough vacuum to suck up the media. Ended up welding a fitting onto a metal watering can, filling that with media and hanging off a beam in the garage 👍
