Original Hot sot suspension hop up

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have been routing around my loft looking through all my Tamiya models and spares and found the hop up kit (new) for the hot shot suspension

does anyone know if anyone is still wanting these?

To clarify - the OP is not looking to sell. And to answer the question he asked...

The answer to any question along the lines of "I have a vintage item, are there people who want these?" is always "Yes" :)  Original vintage release parts of virtually any kind, are always wanted by someone, and sometimes by many. Anything vintage and new in box - can generally be considered gold to some degree.

So these enable (4) "normal" style shocks to replace the factory (2) horizontal ones?

Hmm, kind of takes away the unique appeal but I understand that it would help improve the handling...

Yes, this is a vintage upgrade set for making your vintage Hotshot a bit more like a vintage Super Shot - but only in the suspension department (the Super Shot still carried many other additional changes).

And yes, it does take away the unique appeal. To me a Hotshot is only truly a Hotshot, if it has those unique monoshocks, with complex cantilever rear system.

The Super Shot is a glorious weapon of it's own. But they are like brothers. And brothers like to have their own space, and don't wear each other's clothes.

Yes you're absolutely correct lol...

My brother is a nerd so I won't be wearing his clothes lol.

I'll be keeping my Hot Shot looking "stock" but will be upgraded with ball bearings, better wheel/tyre combo and modern electronics etc.

That was so that they could be used to upgrade the front suspension on the Boomerang, hotshot II, and super sabre.

Yep, that's right, but they're only good for replacing the front shocks, for the rears you need the full upgrade kit shown at the start of the thread.

Correct, do people even want them? I don't own any of those vehicles nor plan to...

Well I certainly would not bin them ! There must be a market for them with the boomerang being re-released again, I can't remember if my super sabre is dual or single shock at the front, but would certainly consider getting the hardware to convert it to dual shocks if it isn't already.
