Well I hope someone can give me an idea what to do.

I have finished building the Tamiya Scania R620 truck.

I am stuck as to where to put all the wiring from the front

lights and the MFU.

Any help with how you did yours would be much appreciated.

Thanks

When I put mine in my grand hauler there is plenty of room in the rear cab section but I run the leads from the lights along the seams. I asked for pics from Matteo for my grand hauler and he promptly sent some back witch helped 100%

I will have the same problem with my Mercedes truck as I will be keeping the seats in. Try looking on utube as someone will have had the same problem as you.

I braid the wires together to keep them nice and tidy. This allows you to fold them into a small bundle

Thank you for the replies.

I have braided the wires coming from the front lights but not the ones from the control unit.

I was considering the spiral wrap solution but I need somewhere to secure them inside the cab.

As far as fitting a dash and seats the instructions say if fitting the MFU do not fit them.

I think I said previously that this was my first R/C model and I bit off more than I could manage.

Making my Pajero Sport has given me the confidence to try to finish the Scania but its still no walk in the park.

You can secure the wiring in place with small self adhesive cable clips.

Ebay item 292133202564 might be worth taking a look at.

I managed to fit the dash, seats + MFU & speaker in a Globe Liner even though the manual said to leave the dash & seats out - tricky but it can be done.

Thanks Tamiysbigstuff.

I have some cable ties that I used when I braided the wires.

I just did a quick test and coiled the wires I think if I do that and

secure them with a cable tie it should be ok.

I have now braided all the remaining wires and it looks a lot less daunting than it did.

I may be finally getting somewhere with it.

Half of the trick to a good final product is hiding stuff that doesn't come on a 1:1 truck to make it look authentic.

I started on my first using electrical tape, the second was spiral wrap, the third was cutting sections out of the rear cross beams so I could hide the rear wiring inside the rails...

Another is to use styrene treadplate or painted flat sheet to simulate a catwalk.

Then there is hiding the mfu, false walls and floors so you can fit the interior etc reverse mounting the speaker with the spacerand using the cab roof as a speaker box (closing it off)...

Lots of thinking involved  😆

Well I am totally at a loss to know what to do next guys.

I decided before I went any further I had better make sure everything worked so I carefully connected up all

the wires to the MFU connected the battery turned on the Tx and nothing.

On top of the control box there is a 3 position switch and some push buttons using a combination of the switch and buttons the lights

and indicators all work but nothing from the Tx no steering no throttle and more importantly no demo mode.

Where does the Rx get power from?

The only thing plugged into it are the servos.

The radio I am using is a Spektrum DX6i so do you think that could be the problem.

I did hear a while ago that setting it up with an MFU was difficult so any help appreciated.

If I need to get a different radio no problem just which one would work.

Thanks

I will do these adjustments tomorrow and hopefully I will

have some positive results to report.

Thanks for the help.

Make sure you have the servos plugged into the mfu, and the servo wires from the mfu plugged into the receiver.

Next make sure you have the wires from the mfu plugged into the receiver correctly.

I have followed the videos above and connected the servo leads as described.

I set the channel settings as per the video but the controls work backwards.

For example to start the engine you pull down on mine you push up.

When I looked again I see that the dx6i used in the video is not the same as mine.

No problem now I know where the videos are on YouTube I will find a different one.

At least I know the MFU works which is a relief.

Thanks

OK Partial success.

I have managed to get the truck to run and I can change all 3 gears.

The engine start sound works fine I but I still need to reverse the control (or do I)?

Now I need to find out how to turn the engine sound off and make the lights work.
