Chrome Pumpkin?

Nope,I'm pretty sure a chrome pump was never available. All the chassis parts were avail in chrome from ccp(custom chrome parts)which went out of business years and years ago. There has been a seller on ebay the last few months,selling these parts,all still new in package. What ccp did was sourch the original parts-then chrome plate them.There plating process was first class and rivalled any chrome plating on plastic I have ever seen. They also did a number of clod buster,blackfoot parts and maybe others? Except for the body on the pump(or lunchbox)you could have an entire chrome plated chassis.Very sweet. [8D]

Actually Merv the guy that was CCP is still around. It's now Chrometech USA.

Okay,just got an email from Bob,the chrome plater.Turns out he isn't/wasn't related to CCP. Plus he is leaving Sunday for 2 weeks. If any of you guys email him and don't get a response-that is the reason.[8D]

Really thats strange. The way I made the correlation is that they are at the same address that CCP was at. I guess things change

Jim, just talked to Bob. Seems like a real nice guy-sent me his home phone #. I'm going to get some parts organised and sent off to him right after Christmas. At the moment the turn around time is 4 weeks,but as he is vacationing the next couple of weeks,it may be a bit longer. Whatever.I'm in no hurry. If any of you guys want to keep updated on how the plating turns out email me late Jan and I should know how things turn out. Merv

i have a chrome pumpkin body, got it from ebay about a year ago, and i just got all the chassis parts together, ill be posting pics as soon as i get off my butt and re-register !! check out my showroom, and you will see the beetle and king cab i have, all chrome !! i have used the chrometech guy myself, he is pretty good, quality is still no where near ccp, i was kinda shocked when i read the first part of this thread saying he was ccp. the beelte and the cab both have parts on it he has done, my next project to him will be a complete wild willy parts tree set !! its in the works........
