My LHS is trying to talk me into an XV01 long damper kit and I was looking at some option parts.  RC Mart has aluminum suspension blocks from Tamiya or Yeah Racing.  The Yeah parts are something like half the price of the Tamiyas (big surprise).  Has anybody used them or similar that can speak to the quality or should I spring for the Tamiya stuff?  That is if I buy the kit.

I can't speak for the exact parts you mentioned but I've used yeah racing shock towers for the tt02b. They are soft aluminium. The front ones bent in service due a design flaw, not impacts. It had too many shock holes that virtually touched each other with only just a thin membrane of alu between, hence the screws that mount the shocks bent the holes down. The rear tower seemed fine and took plenty of impacts. I've used their A arms and hub carriers and they seem fine.

that said I replaced the yeah ones with Tamiya frp towers and they were terrible. Snapped on sight and wore the mounting holes. I'm sticking the rear yeah tower back on.
