So I'm flying into gatwick on the 27th of june does that help? Staying in andover Hampshire. Coming from Florida . Does this save on duties if I was say bringing an rc car for my nephew? Let meknow. Im supposed to be travelling light. But then again if im checking a bag at 45$ its better than duties plus shipping

You could always go for the F103 @ £135 in the UK.

If only Gatwick was a bit nearer to me, or even Andover but they are too much of a trek, thank you for the offer though Dave, enjoy your trip over pal.

Hey Jason, I haven't been into the forums much at all, especially since the refresh, but I am in the USA and I know how to ship a thing or two. Shoot me a mail and we should sort this out when I get back home on Wednesday.

Bit late to the party and hope that you get the shipping sorted out soon.  Import tax is applied to anything over £20 including the postage cost, nothing worse than getting something in just over and paying the crazy handling fee!   RC Mart are the masters of the $10 parcel....... ;)

I've been playing with my F103Gt and was very surprised with the ground clearance achieved. It has a Tamiya F104 motor mount with no chassis spacers and the axle in the lowest mounting point, I will need to get it sitting a little lower for speed runs :)

Amen to the handling fee sting Dougo, we've all been there.. last time out I bought 2 x £12 servos from the states, got £3 VAT and £12 handling fee doubling the cost almost!

Im liking your F103GT and glad to see yours sitting so high, is yours is totally stock to achieve that ground clearanceyou haven't done anything else to raise it?

ps- what is the ground clearance in that photo?

Nothing other than mentioned, it's 8.5mm at the front and 10mm at the rear.  There is actually quite a lot of adjustment available, XV Pilot aka Tamiya Ninja :) pointed me in the direction of spacer in the front assembly that could be swapped and the rear has three different axle mount points plus the motor mount spacer I removed.

Well lookie what arrived from the USA today...... flat packed into a smaller than kit box and all the goodies inside in pristine condition with no customs fees... and in just 8 days from posting to arrival.

Big big thank you to Crash Cramer aka Chris for buying this in the states and posting it to the UK for me..... all in all this cost me £126 which for a F104W chassis is darn cheap... especially when a Wolf WR1 isn't even for sale in the UK.

Chris even included a freebie part for a F104 chassis but I am not adept to spot it, sorry pal, I'm sure it'll become apparent once I start to sift through the box properly matching parts up... right now it's all a blur of lovely new shineyness ;p

Kit box all assembled again to full size.... it must've been cramped inside that smaller box lol

So there you have it, good things do happen, you just have to ask and have a member like Crash Cramer (guardian angel)  sitting upon your shoulder :)

Well I still think it is more like Vegas odds that you were missed on the customs. Not that I am trying to throw you under the bus, just think we got lucky on this shipment. You will find the extra part when you go to assemble it, I also think you lauded too much praise on me as it was a fairly easy repackage job when you allowed me to "fold" the kit box. 😱 The only thing thing that delayed me was finding a suitable box to cram it into without having to go buy one,  but as my father-in-law points out, I never throw out a box.

Glad to know I'm not the only weirdo :D

Gee if he's ok with kitbox origami, if only he also allowed you to sympathetically trim the shell too... betcha you could've used a box HALF the size

I would pay extra if the service included a trimmed shell, you could pretty much name your price!

I did offer the option to cut off the rear wing from the main shell if it made it smaller, it wasn't needed though ;)

All Chris got was to keep the silver can motor as this reduced the weight a good bit.

Yes I see them too... I do like the Lotus 79, similar to the Wolf WR1 ( both f104W too)

Yer, it is good news really, lots of Tamiya kits turning up again in the mainstream model shops from WT-01 derived to the F104w which hopefully means more hard to finds or previously UK discontinued to come along with spares.

All I got was the silver can, that is stating it modestly, I GOT TO DROOL ALL OVER THE KIT BOX. :D It did hurt to make it an origami project, but I got over it, oh, I did wipe off the drool, but it has been so hot here that it really evaporated before long. I have to admit that thanks to Jason's patience, it was a pleasant experience, I wasn't rushed to get this abroad, so it got done and everybody is happy. I still can't believe the USPS got it there in 8 days!!!

Drool!!! I forgive ye, there's us complaining about the UK heat I think you have it hotter.

Right now I'm preoccupied with my Sonic fighter resto but it's nice knowing I have a Wolf WR1... I doubt it can be had in the UK.. my search shows it is on Ebay UK but coming from Australia for a whooping £280..... yikes!

I'll take my £126 bargain thank you Chris ;)
