Granddad Stinky 975 Posted July 20, 2017 Made a bit of a blunder today. Don't ask for pics, there isn't any, it's too embarrassing. My Holiday Buggy body was driving me nuts, I only had to look at it in a funny way and it would intentionally give itself another deep scratch. Then I saw a YouTube video about heating the surface to make it shiney again. Great, out to my work area armed with my blow torch. Can you see where this is going yet? Moments later, a piece of plastic, that used to be a fender, became hotter than the sun, then settled into it's new home, on top of my thigh. Ouch I said, "What a silly thing to do" I gently muttered as I gave my thigh a waxing treatment with a piece of hardened PVC. The rest of the body is in the bin. I've ordered a body and a couple of new bits to convert to a Desert Gator. I'm still not sure whether I prefer the DT02 or 03. The extra wheel base on the 03 seemed to keep it in a straight line, but my Holiday Buggy went around corners better, despite the extra weight. Any idea which green the Gator is supposed to be and how long do leg hairs take to grow back.
TwistedxSlayer 1289 Posted July 20, 2017 Only a couple of weeks for the leg hair mate :-)
GregM 1109 Posted July 20, 2017 Your thread's titles never fail to deliver. By the way, the HB bodyshell is made from Polyethylene (PE). The Desert Gator bodyshell will fit only the DT-02 chassis anyway, so I guess that's the answer to your question?
TurnipJF 8780 Posted July 20, 2017 The Desert Gator box art is not green at all - blue and white appear to be the paint colours used, along with a load of decals. Of course if you don't fancy box art, PS17 looks to be a nice shade of green.

I've got an 03 as well, I was referring to the school playground over the road - cornering - wear my tyres out really quickly - grip test. 😁

If you've got (or convert to) adjustable tie rods on your HB suspension, you can flip the lower front wishbones to lengthen the wheelbase:
Granddad Stinky 975 Posted July 20, 2017 It's in the cupboard until I finish other stuff, but I will be building with a turnbuckle kit and brace. Thanks for the heads-up. 👍
martinjpayne 272 Posted July 20, 2017 By the way, what part of Pompey you live? I'm in North End.

We agree on PS17 though, with a white backing, that'll really catch the light. 😉

No. But my obviously stupid joke about you throwing the rest of you away after losing a bit of hair apparently fell flat on its face. Bigtime.
Granddad Stinky 975 Posted July 24, 2017 OH!! Now I see it, as though I was throwing the rest of MY body away, instead of the HB body. I get it, I wish I'd thought of that one. 🤔🤐
TurnipJF 8780 Posted July 24, 2017 Hee hee! I must confess I didn't get it either to begin with. The test of a good joke though - still funny even if it had to be explained...
