help needed quickly pls, will a geared diff from a super astute fit my king cab?

thanks[:D]

No it won't, the Super Asute's gear diff is a different pitch. Open & take the diff out on both cars, you'll see what I mean [V]

Its the Original Astute and the King Cab that are the same as I remember...The Super astute was different and more like the Vanqish as mentioned...but not sure if the same...

I attempted this recently since the ball diff in my Astute was slipping no matter what i did. The gearing in the Super Astute is 64dp whereas the gearing in the Astute is 48dp which means it could have been easy but Tamiya put a stop to that. The Super Astute transmission is far superior though and a worthwhile upgrade. I swapped the whole lot over in the end. No more slippage unless i dial it in using the clutch.

Do you know if the super Astute and the Vanquish have the same tranny? You added the Super Astute Tranny to the King Cab/Astute was there any mounting problem...Thanks Jerry

No, I think you guys misunderstood what I said.

If I remember correctly, the balldiff in the ASTUTE (NOT SUPER) is the same as the balldiff in the rear of the Egress, and as such I would imagine that the GEAR DIFF from the VANQUISH/Avante/2001 would fit right into the gearbox of the ASTUTE (NOT SUPER)..

Although, I do not know if the actual gear size (number of teeth) is the same, as there might be a difference there?

An Avante one will fit, but it'll need some work as one part where the drive cups go in is longer than the other. If you fix that up by cutting it (it's plastic) it'll work perfectly.

Nope, and the Vanquish is basically a plastic Avante all 'round.

so can i use my gear box with a full set of super astute internals or do i need the case as well?

The gear case is identical to the King Cab. Knock yourself out [;)]

Hi, you can substitude King Cab ball diff with Vanquish REAR gear diff. You need to mod it cuttins one side (it's too much long) or substituding it with Super Astute part (making some mods). I did it on my king Cab but the result isn't good if you havent a slippery clutch.

The car become highly oversteerer. Without clutch you will destroy iddle gear after one minute.

Buy the lethal weapon 2.
