Enter my first ever restoration project, the Tamiya Mad Bull. I picked this Tamiya Mad Bull up local to me off eBay. My first plans for the Mad Bull is to clean it up and give it some life again. Once completed and looking 100% better than it does now I will begin to change a few little things and make a few modification's.

Here are some pictures of the Mad Bull when I got it home:

As you can see from the photos above, the car has seen better days! The previous owner lived near an astro turf bike track, I figure this is why the model is covered in sand.

Doesn't look to bad, dirty yes but it looks intact.  I love my madbull, it doesn't get run often enough :( .  I fell into the trap of making it to pretty lol

Very nice model you have there!! I cant decide if I want to do mine to box art or my own choice!

Looking at the rust on the motor and springs, I would guess that has spent a bit of time at the beach

Or put away wet but yeah looks like it's lived a hard life. But thats the great thing about mad bulls they can stand up to so much punishment!

A few update photos below:

Everything that fit went through my ultra sonic cleaner 3-4 times. Prior to this everything got brushed over with a paint brush to get rid of all the sand!

I have dismantled and cleaned all 4 wheels, which lead to me discovering one of the tyres is cracked.

I recently upgraded my Tamiya Rising Fighter shocks to some fancy alloy ones, so the standard ones got dismantled to help with the Mad Bull.

Once everything was cleaned the rebuild begun...........

Wow, that's a very nice collection! I can't decide on a wheel and shell combo.

Gotta love a Madbull. Got 3 in my house for the kids but i love running them as much as they do.

I have not actually run mine yet, once the build is complete I will then be able to have my first run with it! From what I have heard and see it looks a blast! Are all 3 of your mad bull's standard or have you customised them?

They arent standard. Torque tuned motors in 2. Sports tuned in the other. 1 has CVA oil shocks. 1 has alloy oil shocks and the 3rd is on friction shocks. 2 are running Hobbywing 1060s and the other is on a Tamiya TLBE02s. 2 have the standard steering rod covered with heat shrink and the 3rd has a custom steering link.

I’ve got several, but no where to host them yet, they were on photobucket.

You don't need photobucket, I've used that site for years until they diddled everyone. You can actually upload pics direct to the site by clicking on the choose files link at the bottom of the page! I've only just discovered that myself!

Your Mad Bull is cleaning up very nicely!  Can't wait to see what you do with the shell...

Thank you, I've been planning the shell and wheel combo on some blank printed photos! I'll post some up as soon as possible

Welcome to TC Owain! Good job on your restoration so far! Some of your pics look squished, though?
