R.I.P   Rad Fismistr

I was just checking Facebook a few minutes ago to catch up with family and I saw a post that said our very own TC member Rad Fismistr has passed away.
He was known on TC as rad22rad and was an amazing talent and I had been emailing him back and forth for at least 10 years about R/C stuff and motorcycles. I just met him for the first time two years ago when I was on a business trip over in London. He just called me two months ago to chat while on a business trip over here in the USA. I could not make it to where he was unfortunately. I should have made the effort.

I do not have details on what happened but for those that know him you realize what a huge loss this is. He was one of the nicest guys you could ever be with.

I cannot believe this. Chris, please leave this up for at least a few hours.............................scollins

Prayers for his family............... R.I.P. Rad

So very sad. He was truly top-notch, and super talented as a RC modeller. Always willing to exchange ideas & parts, Rad always had a kind word, and was great talking to him. He will be deeply missed. He and family will be on my prayers tonight.

Very sad when I found this out yesterday. Rad was a great bloke and true talent, have very fond memories spending time with Rad creating the DVDs for Tamiya101. Great loss and condolences to family.

Sad news. I didn't know him personally and had never met him face to face but, just like with Badboy, this is a very sad loss to TC. I'd only had one dealing with him. Here's the story:

I'd found out about Awesome Alloys long after production of the SRB parts had ended and, instead of me doing my usual "I've missed it so I won't bother going on with the project", I contacted him in the hope he still had stuff left over. He got back to me to let me know he'd looked around and he had two chassis' and three skid guards but no motor or gear covers and no knock off nuts (which were never put into production). As always, I wasn't really "in the money" but he gave me a little time to scrape the money together to buy both chassis' and all three guards. The transaction was smooth and interaction was relatively pleasant... and the craftsmanship of the chassis' and guards are excellent. They're so good to admire that, after building up one chassis, I've had trouble with bringing myself to build up the second. I really want to display it in all it's glory, more so now with Rad's passing... RIP Rad.

It is truly sad news to hear this, I only got to trade with him a few times and unfortunately, I don't seem to have any of his artwork here in my collection. I say artwork as it is truly very nice the things he made for this hobby of ours. I only hope he can continue to inspire other folks here on TC in his postings and details that are second to none. I hate to say something like this, but it won't be long until we have an "IN MEMORIUM" page for members that have gone on.

Chris, perhaps you can begin that work now with a fresh mind and we can all remember some of the folks that make this online community seem more like a big worldwide family. Now if you excuse me, I will have to explain to my wife why I am watching old RC dvds and weeping a touch.
