Granddad Pinion Moment

I've had a bit of a senior moment. I've bought a 3660 3300kv motor combo for my truck build. Unfortunately, I didn't spot that it has a 5mm shaft. Any help sourcing a TT02B 17t pinion gear would be appreciated.

I'd just run a 5mm drill through the centre of a regular 540 motor pinion.

Yeah, I could do that in my little lathe (Plan B) but I'll see if I can buy a proper one first.

Modelsport sell rw racing pinions with 5mm shaft. not sure of the available pitches though, but it will probably be your best selection. Failing that www.hpcgears.com, but they won't be cheap for one small gear.......

Edit: just checked modelsport and they don't have any 0.6module gears with 5mm shaft

I changed virtually everything else on the truck build, why should this be any different? 🤷‍♂️

Plan B it is, I hope they didn't harden the centre of the gear too much. 🤦‍♂️

When  i was trying to find normal pinions I kept finding those with 5mm shafts, check out Hobbyking, pretty sure it was there
