Well I ordered a pair of HPI X Pattern D compound tyres for the rear after reading they give good grip on asphalt, I think that's a foreign word for road.

Noticed the new shell if allowed to sit low enough will catch the steering servo  horn so something to watch out for.

Waiting for my 9mm offset wheels and tyres now.... and just accidentally won another Advan Courage shell too (NIP)... can never have to many... might run one now!

I run 40 shore on the front, 35 shore on the rear, but that is on carpet. I can't say I have any experience running on tarmac.

Thanks, please take it outdoors and drive for an hour and report back :)

Jonathon could do with this advice too... @Jonathon Gillham

Haha I need all the help I can get!  Mine will be run indoors on carpet, and I have just ordered premounts with the instruction "send me what you use"

What you need is for me to get you a 911GT1-98 runner copy like I'm planning on making from my sole original 😁

What I'd need is for you to link the above so I can see it lol... I'm gutted I bought the wrong Montech shell for this car and might still buy it one day... the M-10 ( Not the MF-10 I bought)

Have you got a runner shell yet for your F103GT?

Do you have any idea of the stock top speed if you've run it on either 14/70 or 17/70 gearing? ( can't remember lol)

That Montech shell reminds me a lot of HPI's Toyota GT-One:

Happy to see an Advan Courage build - you never really see them around, do you? A build thread like this one makes me appreciate the differences between Tamiya's F1-based cars and their touring cars; I went the other way around with my adventures, starting with the simpler F103 before getting my hands on a TA-05.

Your car looks fantastic, as do the specs. I wonder how long it will be until you decide to tackle a top-speed run? ;)

And courtesy RC-Scrapyard, the aforementioned Porsche 911 GT1-98:

Since it is F103-based, it has a wheelbase of 260 mm and a width of at least 195 mm. It could work quite well if you find it!

Thanks Grastens, the more I look at my Montech MF-10 the more it grows on me so I can finally stop drooling over other Bodyshells now.

The reason I don't want multiple shells is I've only this one chassis so it's a waste, unlink TC shells I can swap them over multiple chassis to amuse myself and justify those multiple buys!

No there's not many F103GT's around, it must be the lack of running surfaces available... when I first got back into RC 5 years ago I went straight for a 1/8 Monster Truck for that reason.

I've only ran this F103GT once, that was with the Advance shell, I hope to get this out for a proper run with this runner shell on to see what she's capable of...we might see it on the speed run list one day  but it needs to reach about 60MPH to get to the top!

This old thread is a nice find!

I literally finished building my F103GT (ADVAN Courage LC70). The shell sure is beautiful  I had no idea how old/rare they are.

Now I'm worried about running it!
