I have kept a casual eye on rc10's over the last 10 years or so.

Then the re issue came and I couldn't afford it.

I always look, but never buy.

I saw this on ebay and was watching, I expected it to go for alot more. I havent seen one go this cheap in many years.

Original 80's gold pan, built but never run, immaculate, sold for £175.

So, why so cheap? Im no expert on these.

In the uk a rough scratched up one will bring £150, a new built re issue made over £300.

Any reason this didnt make much?

I've been watching them for a few months, looks like the range is around 200-400usd for a good non-abused one. It depends on what comes with them too. Then there are some people that sell rc gems for cheap to get rid of them. Those are the ones I watch for.

Then there is this guy who wants a grand:

I'm also watching RC10's at that time, pity i haven't noticed the one that went for 175£ which is definately a low baller. I agree with tamiya_1971 on this; 200 -400 is the actual range you'd have to spend for a good example from the U.S.
Also keep in mind the differences of RC10's. There were cheaper basic kit versions and different "stamped" Chassis cars. To figure out about all the differences of RC10's, this is a good source: https://www.teamassociated.com/downloads/evolution-of-rc10-buggy.html

I saw that link the other day. The £175 car was a second gen A stamped car. Only issues I could see were it was missing the battery tray parts and gear cover.

Had the msc though, how many still have that!

I was tempted, doubt ill ever see one as nice or as cheap again, but ive just started a tomahawk project and am super tempted by an optima re re so I did the sensible thing and let the rc10 go.

I'm not the only one that's been watching RC10s lately then :)

The pricing of them does seem strange.

Was interested in a Team Car that had seen a fair bit of use. But the guy wanted £280 and wouldn't move.  Then he and it disappeared from eBay and it reappeared from another seller. I left it alone after that. Think it sold for the 280 though.

In the end I was fortunate to spot a built, not run, Team Car that would be coming from France.

I managed to win that for less than 200. Just waiting for it to arrive.

I guess they probably go for more here in the UK because there's not so many of them about.
